Anyway, as for the topic... I have to say

Light's death. It shows how far he had fallen; his death was more pathetic than impressive, but that made it dramatic for me. I felt sorry for him, tbh. But his last word to be damn, well, that just shows what kind of person he was ;)

And I agree with Thunder on L. It could have been done much better. I hadn't expected it and was shocked, and it were only four pages or so... it deserved more screen time. :/

Throughout the manga, I hoped he'd reappear as a ghost or something, but I knew deep down this was Death Note and no Harry Potter ._.

And yes, Ruyk was epic. He surprised me in the end, though... o_____o Talk about sadistic.

L's death seemed kinda... Cheap to me, if you know what I mean. Like, he was a great detective and a very interesting character, but killed off so easily... By Rem, on Light's whim. I wished it was more exciting, ya know what I mean?

Are there any characters you really don't like?

I don't hate any character... but for my least favourite, I'd have to say Near.

Because he replaced L, and he was a lesser version IMO.

I much rather have Mello. He's got more character.

Well, and besides Near... not really a fan of Rem, liked Ruyk far better... and Mikami, for some reason. He did get crazy at the end though, that was unexpected to see xD;

As for my favorite character... I'd have to say Light. I loved his crazy psycho evilness. I use his laugh from the last ep as a ringer for when I get txt messages! :laugh:

L comes to a very close second because he's just awesome in every way.

I also like Misa because she was just hilarious.

But he almost did it with a smile, I had hoped on some regret :/ And Takada, he had spent the night with her for a long time... and still he killed her without caring. How psycho are you, then? Playing with love really is the lowest you can sink, imo. I still love Light for being such an awesome character, and having such great intelligence and charisma, but for that I despise him.

Matt should have a bigger role... before I started reading DN, I had seen a lot of fan art of him, so I thought he was a main character XD My mistake, he just has a lot of fangirls, haha.

I would love to join this club. I've been watching the show for a long time, though I haven't seen much of both arcs, so I'm hoping to see the reruns from the beggining.

Also, Light is a FABULOUS psycho! He's still likeable, though(only if you're not a criminal, a fake Kira spokesman, or getting in the way of his FABULOUS Utopia)

You're so right. Light is one of the best characters. I felt myself switching back and forth between loving and hating him. I think he had good intentions, but murder just has a way of messing people up, yah know?
And when

Light makes himself forget the death note and all that, he actually becomes a normal, good guy. I think the Note just warped him. Without it having been in his life, who knows what coulda happened? He prolly coulda become a detective and surpassed L. Considering he killed L I guess you have to say he's better than L. Not that it was really fair cus Light used a death god. Which nobody else had that unfair advantage.

But if he wouldn't have found the Note and hadn't gone mad there wouldn't be a story and we'd miss out on his crazy genius and insane expressions.

@ Doctor Love: I love your sig :D It actually makes me like the girl, haha.

@ Sakura: That's definitely one of my favourite moments in the manga. Suddenly Light becomes so normal! The most striking thing is his eyes: they change so completely. First they are kinda slits, now they're wide and friendly. And yes, he becomes a likable person, and I loved his interaction with L there. So this would have been him if he hadn't found the Death Note. You might say it would have been better if he hadn't picked it up; although he wouldn't agree with that, of course.

Well, it's nice to theorize about he would have turned out if Ruyk hadn't interfered with the human world :) There's this great fic about, that you probably all know (Genius is a curse) since it's one of the most read fics on FF.

Aizawa because he was probably the smartest (and coolest) of all the Japanese investagators and who doesn't love his afro? :laugh:

Like Misa, Matsuda was just an awesome comic relief character that I found to be pretty hilarious throughout the manga/anime and I also liked

If any, I'd say misa/light. The manga is so full of other stuff, so I think romance sorta takes a lower role of importance. But I feel bad for misa because she's so devoted to light, but he's just using her the whole time. His heart disappeared so he had no room for the poor, silly girl.
But if light was sane, they could be a cute couple.
But even then, maybe light is more of a no-nonsense type?
