You are right. It was dissapointing, but a great read none the less.

And it definitely changed my views of Light.

I've seen a bit of the second movie through a cam rip up on Winny, it was just the last couple of minutes, the ending's ten times better than the manga. Can't wait to see the entire thing myself, and hopefully in good quality.

And as far as I know, there's no Australian release planned yet, though it might end up there after the US gets it.

I heard about the ending, so it'll be interesting to see that.

But the thing is Light's death was supposed to be depicted as pitiful in the manga. It is such a high level of irony, cause this is someone, who has been on such a high pedestal accompanied by a god complex, only to be brought down so swiftly, suddenly, and shamefully.

Technically, but so is Bit Torrent and basically any form of downloading.

It works a lot better in the movie, Light's death is still pitiful, but it works so much better because he gets owned by L in one of the most unexpected ways.

Did anyone notice that L is cuter in the movie than in the book? At least I think so. XD But that's just judging by the previews of "Death Note: The Last Note."

I've only have checked volume 1, and little bit of volume 2. I personally would want to stick with the anime for a while, I don't want to ruin what's ahead for myself. =\

I want to keep the same pace too. Later on, the manga reeeallly starts to disturb you on how close they are to getting him >: Bleh.

Yeah, but the only thing that make me want to view the manga is how long it takes to upload one episode. It's just like waiting for Naruto to release a filler every week, but for Death Note it takes longer.
