Death Note spin off

Various Japanese sources have confirmed that due to the success of the first two Death Note movies, a spin off is in the works. These are supposed to follow the novels about L's life that take place before the series. No release date has been announced, but it's expected to come sometime before Winter '07.

L's true name is released, along with various information pertaining to him, in the final volume of the manga. It was released on his birthday; Halloween; and is entitled "How to Read...: Vol. 13".
