Death Note wasn't the same when L Lawliett passed away. The presence of L made the anime much more tense, and after he died it seemed a little more childish. It would have been better if the ending was a alittle better thought out. I personally would have preferred the anime to finished at episode 25 with maybe an extra chapter to conclude things.
However there are some new characters which i like from either side of the teams. Mikami & Mello were my two favourites after Light & L.
