-Choose a dedicated theme. "Bug/Dragon" isn't specific enough. (Which bug? Which Dragon?)

-Check if a card is really necessary before including it into the deck

-Play advanced format (much easier and better than traditional) so take out the banned cards

-Stay away from monsters with no effect for now, as they are either useless, or very difficult to use well. Let's stick with effect monsters until we get the hang of things.

-Stay away from all equip cards but premature burial and snatch steal for the same reason as normal monsters

    What about Skill Drain?

    That is not exactly percise.

It basically depends on the deck want you want to play. What you have to play the deck. And the card you need to play the deck.

Members of the site could help you. But also people in real life could help you also. Sites like TCG Player and Metagame are sites that are more more focoused on the game than here.

Also rulings of the cards that you are using are important.

    Just how many times do I have to go through all of this ;_;

-Normal monsters *ARE* playable but *NOT* as easy to play as effect monsters at all. Your monsters got nothing but high stats, or precise+specific combos (exodia pieces/ojama monsters.) When you see a deck like this, can you honestly expect the player to be capable of handling these type of decks? I severely doubt that even you or myself can use an exodia deck, ojama deck, red eyes deck or normal beatdown (Blue Eyes and Dark Magician are probably the only two normal monsters that we can use *decently* because they got tons of good effect monsters and spells to support... but even then only *decently* and far from *well*)

Equip cards basically spell Ben Kei, Cyber Stein, Infernal Reckless Summon or the fairies... just like the situation above, none of those are easy decks to play so we might as well assume that they're extinct.

    Theortically playable? Definitely.
    Playable in reality now? Nope.

Well, first thing is, choose a theme.
Most basic things of deck building.
    You need a theme..

    1 Trap Card? Err?

Stick with unbanned cards, remove cards that have no purpose in your deck, as frostweaver said, take out cards without effects. One-Eyed Shield Dragon? Baby Dragon? You kiddin' me??

No one can actually help you at the moment until you have chosen a theme. Then we can start talking.

Fine, forget the bugs, i wanted to make a dragon deck and i didnt have enough dragons so i put the bugs in. I took the bugs out, and now i have too many spell cards. and if i take out non-effect monsters i'll have 7 monsters.

That's why, there's some easy-to-obtain dragon cards... Plus, just because it's a dragon deck it doesn't mean that you must use pure dragons.

Is that all the dragon cards that you got? Tell us more about what dragon (with effects) cards you got, including if you have multiple copies of them. Hopefully, you got the other dragons such as Horus (easiest dragon deck to make, imho) and Armed Dragon, not Blue Eyes and Red Eyes (hardest dragon deck by far.)

Equip cards have their uses, they are higly underated.

United We Stand and Mage Power = major underrate

Lose the Dragon Capture Jar, for one thing (using that in a DRAGON DECK!??). Also, like just about everyone else said, get rid of the banned cards. Then, lose every single normal monster that's less than 1600 in both ATK and DEF and every single tribute monster you've got (except LV5, BEWD, and REBD). After that's done, decide on which of the above three you would like to base the deck around (or Horus, if you would prefer) and max out on that theme's main monsters (Paladin/Kaibaman for BEWD, Chick and Darkness for REBD, LV3-10--not so much 7 & 10--for LV5, or LV4-8 for Horus). Afterwards, max out the 4-star Luster Dragons, grab a couple Spear Dragons, King Draguns, Lord of Ds, and we'll go from there. Oh, and most of your spells have got to go (remove trap, block attack, ookazi, reliable guardian, etc)...

*barely keeps self from responding to Frostweaver's second-to-last post*
