Delayed Evolutions

    There has been a couple cases during the series where Ash or Brock has a pokemon that they left while going off to another region i.e. Donphan, Quilava, Steelix and returned later to either use them and have them evolve or (in Steelix case Forrest using it) after a prolonged period of time.

    So that got me to thinking...

    Which pokemon do you find most likely to be one from a previous Saga that will evolve in the future?

    Which of the pokemon would you prefer evolve even if there is little to no likelihood of that happening?

    I don't know about the like hoods but I know I want to see it evolve. I don' t know if it would evolve to a Garchomp at some point because that would sound crazy. I don 't want to say its an Automatic Victory because...its Ash, he has got to lose at some point. We are talking Uber now, and Garchomp or at least Gabite is one of coolest Pokemons you can get.

    Other than him.....hmmm..i dunno if there is much Pokemons left to evolve, however since B/W is still in progress, I speculate the evolution of most of his starters. Especially Snivy for some reason I can't tell.
     
    Well, Gible is obviously a big one on the list. Seeing at it was caught a little late, and only had a few battles really. So I could probably see it evolve during a filler arc after Unova league or if Ash uses it in the Unova league. I'm not sure if I'd like it to reach Garchomp too soon. I also had a theory he'd trade it to Iris and she would evolve it, kind of like when Ash traded Aipom to Dawn and it evolved soon after.

    If they were to evolve Totodile, Ash would have a full set of Johto starters at their next stage, considering we have Bayleef and Quilava.

    I'm not too sure whether we'll see Buizel evolve, it doesn't seem to be the type to want to. Though I would like it to.

    I'm not too sure we will ever see Totodile evolve,he didn't seem like he wanted to evolve,Bayleef evolve from Chikorita inorder to save Ash from Team Rocket attacks,Quilava evolve from Cyndaquil to save not only it's self but other pokemon aswell,then again they did evolve Cyndaquil into Quilava for promoting the Heartgold & Soulsilver games at the time.

    Gible may come back and evolve into Gabite and that is about it.

    Buizel didn't seem like he wanted to evolve,he never shown any signs that he wanted to evolve anyways.

    I don't remember it ever indicating it wanting to evolve or not. You've made a good point about Quilava promoting HG/SS, but honestly neither Donphan or Sceptile evolving in Kanto was anything to do with promotion. Bayleef evolving because of team rocket isn't really relevent, since any Pokémon can evolve due to anything.

    Gible could turn up and evolve twice, things that fast have happened before. Just take Charizard and Dawn's Mamoswine for example. Even so, it could evolve into Gabite under Iris' ownership like I said, and then if not evolve again quite fast, I don't know. Maybe we'll see it again in 10 years and it'll have evolved.

    I didn't say Buizel was going to evolve, you've just repeated what I've said. Although I was replying to the second question so your reply is pretty much irrelevent.

    Uh, what? Totodile showed no signs of not wanting to evolve. It seems like the kind of Pokemon that didn't care if it evolved, it would be happy either way. Plus "An Old Family Blend," the episode where Cyndaquil evolved, aired on November 20th 2010 Heartgold and Soulsilver were released in March 2010 They did not evolve Cyndaquil to promote HG/SS

    I would like to see Bayleef evolve, it would mean more pain for Ash in terms of the Ash/Bayleef/Body Slam gag. :> Plus Meganium is super cute, amazing etc.

    I would like to see Gible evolve, too. The only ones left who can actually evolve fully are Corphish, Bulbasaur and Buizel. I can't see Buizel and Bulbasaur evolving because they're both extremely proud Pokemon. Corphish, on the other hand, loves to fight and evolving will give it more power and will let it win more.

    Hmmm.....that's one critical Theory, it does make sense when you come to think of it. It is as if the writers already have planned everything :/
    But I can't stand the fact that Ash is gonna let go of a Gible?! He won't have a problem with it but..I WILL :3

    C'mon, IT EVOLVES TO GARCHOMP! Don't let go of 45.2lbs of GOLD!

    It's just fun speculation, which is really the whole point of this thread, nothing critical or new about it really either, I mean I've backed it up with examples of Charizard and Mamoswine of evolving fast and Ash trading Aipom away and it evolve after soon too and Iris is a Dragon type trainer. So yeah, I'd rather she have it than Ash, because it'll just end up in Oak's lab after anyway. :x

    I doubt we're going to see Ash own a Garchomp, to be quite honest. \: If Gible does evolve, I can see it staying as a Gabite and nothing more. Garchomp just seems too strong for Ash. \;

    Mew.First of all i'm not repeating what you said,you are repeating what i am saying,my edit did correct my grammar unlike your's.

    Cyndaquil evolving into Quilava was to promote the HeartGold&SoulSilver games,that were still big at the time.

    I can see Gible evolving into a Gabite and staying that way,but Garchomp would be way too powerful for Ash.

    I highly doubt their will ever be any remakes of the R/S 3 Gen games.

    Corphish is a cool pokemon but i don't see him evolving,he is really a great Hoenn pokemon.

    Well I am positive that their will be so I think Corphish will evolve.
     
    Corphish may evolve and he may not,it is still possible.

    Maybe they will do a remake of the R/S 3 Gen games.

    Gible. Gamefreak didn't make pokemon psedo legendary by accident. And Gible happens to be one of those select pokemon so it would be interesting to see him showcase the talents of an already strong pokemon.

    Squirtle, yeah this will probably never happen but it would be really neat to see Squirtle evolve into Wartortle. Not to mention it would defeat the purpose of Squirtle Squad unless they all evolved.

    And I really don't see how a pokemon can be too strong for Ash. Brandon rolls with Regis, and Ash beat him. Trollbias had at least two legendaries, so I think if he had a Garchomp it would counter balance matches like that. As for Corpish I felt it should have been Crawdaunt during Hoenn or at the very least BF. Corphish is quite a powerfully little water type, but it would definitely pack more of a punch as Crawdaunt.

    And too everyone if you want to complain about grammar issues or have a beef with other members then please take it too the vm's. I don't want this topic to get derailed like others have.

    Which of the pokemon would you prefer evolve even if there is little to no likelihood of that happening?: I could see Totodile, Corphish, or Buizel evolving, but the likelihood is low because Kingler is the only Water Pokemon Ash has that ever evolved and the writers probably want to keep Ash's older Water Pokemon unevolved.
     
    I don't like to make speculation about what's going to happen in the upcoming episodes of the series (mainly because you've probably all seen more than me since I only watch the dub on CITV), but ones I'd like to see evolve are Bayleef and Gible. I love Meganium, and Gible's a bit pathetic as it is :laugh:
     
    I don't think any old generation Pokemon will evolve duing Black and White but in Gen 6 there may be depending on how they want to play it, whether there are old pokemon or not. There isn't a Pokemon we could say will definately evolve really is there as they all have this pros and cons of evolving.

    I'd like to see Bayleef evolve, Squirtle as well but as previously mentioned by someone it'd defeat the purpose of the Squirtle Squad. I am only about 30 episodes into DP so I don't really see any reason why Buizel shouldn't evolve from what I've heard and I think Ash does need a stronger water Pokemon unless he gets Oshawott to evolve. But his most likely water pokemon to evolve would be Corphish though and would be to promote a remake if they do one for during Gen 6 or something. Torkoal and Glalie can't unless they make new evo's for them - I would like to see Glalie have an egg which Ash would give to his travelling partner in Gen 6 which would evolve from Snorunt to Froslass although Froslass is Gen 4 :/

    There aren't any other Pokemon of Ash's that could evolve really as Gible is the only other one from DP to evolve and as others have said he would only evolve to Gabite as Garchomp is too strong.
