Eep! This is getting freaky.
If Deoxy means no oxygen (I was saying "Oh, its like DeOxyclean. Its against Oxyclean" It was a joke...) Then how could it survive if it has no oxygen. I know its a robot, but...

Deoxys isn't a robot. XD
Plus, I said it was a rumor, and it was lacking some Oxygen. Kinda makes you wonder if it even breathes though, I mean, being able to travel through Space AND not having a mouth, he definently doesn't need it. XD

Space is a (partial) vacuum... so there's only like one atom of hydrogen for every 1000 square miles. So it's very capable that Deoxys can survive without oxygen :P

OK, so I'm about to switch most of you off... :D

Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid is a very complex molecule, made up fron a combination of ribose sugar sides, and amino acid base pairs. We're all familiar with the spiral, or double helix shape, yes? Well, DNA also comes in a non spiral, crystaline form.

Also, the arrangement of the amino acids in the chain form interlocked rungs, the so-called base pairs. There are four main amino acid base pairs: Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, and Guanine. Now, four base pair amino acids, four Deoxys forms... do i see a link here ;) . Then to cap it, Deoxys changes shape from one game to another. DNA also alters shape during cell division...

As for Lugia, there's a winter sport, a kind of cross between sledging and bob sleighing, where the competetors ride down a prepared track, lying face up on a small sled that they steer with leg pressure. Its called Luging, and the sled is a Luge...

Oh... I feel so naive! *Bonks Head*

Don't worry about it. Chances are it's merely a coincidence, although a mighty big one. Still, you never know do you...? ;)

Um... I dunno if this is true, but I heard somewhere that the "s" on the end of deoxys' name means that it lacks a certain amount of oxigen, giving it it's ability to shift form.

:D

Deoxy already means lack of oxygen.

s means it has a lot of organ systems without oxygen...that's the nearest translation I could get :P

I'm guessing nobody caught my joke... :p

found something else like that!

Dewgong is named after the species that Manatees (Sea-Cows) Are. I forgot what it is, but it sound similar...
Dugong

It is not a manatee but is in the same order with manatee.

Dugong belongs to the family Dugongidae, whilst manatees belong to the family Hydrochichus.
