Desserts

This thread is about desserts. You know- pie, cake, cookies, fudge, candy, ice cream, etc. The sweet treats you eat after a meal, not dry sandy environments. That would be deserts.

Now what I want to discuss about desserts is pretty much anything related to them. Recipes for some, unusual desserts, your favorites and why, things you would like to try, how often you have dessert after a meal, is it a good thing or a bad thing. The list of things that we can talk about concerning desserts is endless, and I feel that it might be fun to share ideas about them here.

DESSERT. I love it. I have it every night...>__>

My don't necessarily have a favorite dessert, because I tend to like a lot of dessert-y stuff, but what my family tend to have for dessert most of the time is ice cream, mainly because our grocery store sells these big tubs of them for a pretty cheap price. XD

One notable dessert in our family is a chocolate coffee cake that, for some reason, we call "The Cake." We only serve it on birthdays, and every year, on a birthday, that person will get asked "Hey, do you want 'The Cake' for your birthday?" And the answer is typically yes. XD There is also a small amount of...controversy...over whether or not one should put frosting on The Cake and no one has really come to a conclusion, so usually it is up to the birthday person. I typically prefer frosting, because hey, more sweetness. XD And no, I don't have a recipe, and even if I did, I wouldn't share it without express permission from my great grandmother, great aunt, and grandmother. XD

So yeah. Dessert is something I really like. More than I should. XD

Dessert is generally ice cream for me as well, for basically the same reason. I don't get it very often at my mom's house but my dad always has a variety of stuff.

Cookies I tend to eat with ice cream. :3

I sometimes feel guilty about eating dessert because I know it's bad for me and I do not need it.

...But it is really good.

Apples are amazing. I know lots of people that eat fruit as a dessert or in their desserts, actually. Like apples with a little caramel on them. Or just plain apple. But plain apples for dessert seems odd to me because I eat them so much regularly.

No, I mean counting them as desserts seems strange to me. I classify them as a snack or side dish. They are an easy snack to grab and do whatever while eating.

I love sweets but I'm trying to cut back. I honestly don't have a single favorite dessert. I love cake & ice cream.

Do you have any specific cake & ice cream combo that you like? I prefer vanilla ice cream with angelfood cake.

I almost never eat desserts of any kind. It certainly doesn't help that I'm allergic to anything with chocolate or eggs in it...

Occasionally I'll eat Jello. That's about it.

I enjoy cheery cheese cake~ Well, cheese cake in general; doesn't matter what kind anyway. My mother got me hooked. n.n; [gah, those hooks. THE HOOKS.] Also...M&Ms! I love those tiny ones. :3 I don't really eat much of it though, cause well, my dentist says no thanks. u_u; And myy cat also says no thanks...for some reason, she hisses at me when ever I eat them. =O Also, if you knew me IRL, you'd know that everyone and their mom knows I love cookies n' cream ice cream; cause it defines my purpose in life. Learning baskin robbin's secrets; and STEALING THEM. <3 [not really, but you get the point!]

I love my cookies. I got tired of ice cream after a while, but I still love my cookies. ♥ Cake is okay for a dessert depending on what kind, but I don't like to eat too much of it because I'm very weight-conscious. n___n;

Oh my god, your tastes in desserts are practically the same as mine. :0 I love cheesecakes of many kinds, especially those variety platters they have at the grocery store here. (My only complaint is that they are too small. xD) And cookies and cream ice cream! I love it! Too bad I am practically the only one who LOVES it in my home, so we don't get it often. ;-; GAH I AM HUNGRY NOW. My sweet tooth is tingling. xD
