4th Gen Did anybody stick to their word about using certian Pokemon after D/P's Release?

I dont think I wanted to start off with any pokemon but I didnt expect to be choosing chimchar as my starter and my team was completely different than I thought it was going to be. I thought I would just be having random pokemon on my team but then came the long story of lucario and riolu... Then I ended up having them in my party. :D
 
The entire reason I began Pokémon again after getting bored from Leaf Green was when I found out Porygon was getting another evolution. After hearing this, I bought Diamond immediately and played through the entire game to get me a Porygon-Z, even going as far as to get Pearl in order to trade to evolve it (I had a DS and a DSlite.) When I got my new found Porygon, it didn't dissapoint. It had the power of an Alakazam, and without the old-man frailty and Nasty Plot+Adaptability Hyper Beam=Epic KO, I didn't need any other Poke (Well, accept for Porygon and Porygon2...)

Porygon-Z is now the secondary core of my team, right behind Porygon2 (when I found out Porygon2 had better defenses and that Porygon-Z couldn't have Trace, I had to have BOTH!)​
