Late but haven't seen a thread about this. So for those who don't know the Pokémon TCG world was shaken up quite a bit when Youtuber/streamer penguinz0 - also known as Cr1TiKaL and henceforth as Charlie - sold his very own collection of Pokémon cards in the form of extremely limited "Divine Packs". These are hand assembled resealed Pokémon card packs containing 10 (?) cards, and are mostly known for containing extremely rare, old gen cards, 1st editions, and one card with Charlie's signature on it each. This was intended to make pre-2000 1st edition cards available for reasonable prices at $20 a pack (which is much less than the resale value of many of the potential rare cards within) and just generally give back to the Pokémon TCG community he built on Twitch. And to clear some of his massive collection, I'd imagine lol.
Because this was Charlie's first attempt at something of this scale, of course there were hiccups. Bots bought most of them in order to resell at a significantly higher price, there was issues with packaging since not everyone got a guaranteed rare, and shipping was delayed. Overall though, the first and most likely final launch of the Divine Packs was a success in that the majority were thrilled with getting some and having a slice of not only Pokémon, but internet history as well.
So, what do you think about this process? Would you like to see this happen again? Do you think Charlie did a good thing for the TCG community? Did you buy a Divine pack? We're you happy with the pulls?
