I guess so? I wanted a new Pokemon game that wasn't a third version or sequel to XY, and that was what I got. I didn't have any huge expectations of Sun and Moon - which is just as well, really - so I wasn't hugely let down by anything.
A lot of things I didn't really know I wanted until I found out the game didn't have them - a Pokedex balanced between all previous generations, more new Pokemon, better customisation options, etc - but I can live without them. Despite all these changes, the core gameplay remains the same as it always has, and that was really all I wanted. Just another Pokemon game to play. I got that. I'm not exactly satisfied, but nor am I particularly discontent.
It'll do until I get what I really want, which is Gen IV remakes.
