Did you know that Pokémon are based off of lots of things

I've noticed that a lot of Pokémon are based off of myths, animals from real life, and objects.

Examples

• Magikarps evolution is based off of the chinese myth that if a carp jumps over a dragon gate it will become a dragon.
• Some starter Pokémon like torchic, tepid, snivy, And chimchar are based off the animals from the Chinese zodiac.
• Hawlucha seems to be based off of the Aztecs from Mexico.
• Tyrantrum and tyrunt are based off of The T-Rex
• Charizard is supposed to be based off of European dragons
• oranguru is based off of an orangutan which is an orange haired ape that lives in Southeast Asia
