"Dig Those Diglett!" Episode Discussion

Hmm, it being a non-filler episode doesn't automatically make it good. Well, not with Pokemon, anyway haha.

Hey, I didn't say it was perfect or the best episode, ever. I don't mind new spins on old stuff, if done right. Besides, 30 episodes in, the stories were bound to be repetitive, so why bother complaining?

And, yes, Jorah, just because an episode has game plot or actual plot, doesn't mean it will turn out well.

Because there are about 50 more episodes in Kanto. :P

Yes, but you have to remember "did they intend it to be that way, at the time?" It's easy to cite 50,000 future examples and "hindsight is 20/20," but it doesn't matter if they didn't think the series would last beyond Kanto in 97/98. So, I think they were picking up the pace on this one (then compensated by dumping 20 fillers between Koga and Blaine).

In doing that was a bad idea. They could've put this episode at spot 15-19 of the filler between those two. But putting these two so close together, really isn't appealing.

But most kids most likely wouldn't have noticed this anyway.

Well, pacing is a difficult concept to explain, even to adult writers, at times. Although, some kids may surprise you. So, yeah, this should have been 5 episodes earlier, at least.

Yeah, kids like Coleman.*shot*

Pacing can be difficult at times, but can be explained in easier ways. Just like the birds and the bees.*shot again*
