    PART A

    Tokyo/Shibuya
    Wednesday, 7:30 AM

    An early morning blanket of mist hugged the busy streets of Shibuya, the streets wet from the showers just moments ago. A black BMV zoomed down the streets, its windshield wipers cleaning the oncoming drops of rain. The golden haired boy inside wiped the fog off of his rayband glasses, he substituted his sunglasses for these on days like this. They looked identical to his rayban sunglasses, only difference was instead of dark lenses they were clear prescription lenses. He pushed the sleeves of his grey crewneck sweatshirt up to his elbows and checked the time on his white g-shock watch wrapped around his left wrist. It was going crazy again, just like every other electronic device around the city. The car came to a gentle stop in front of a massive building, painted white with green collumns and a large clock in the front of the school with the words: SHIBUYA HIGH SCHOOL, in green letters just above it. The hands on the clock spun rapidly round and round, the boy inside the car rolled his eyes. He wiped any dust from his dark blue jeans and cuffed the bottom of the legs before adjusting his loosely tied black low top converse.

    "Have a good day at school Riku." His mother smiled warmly, the golden haired boy looked up with his bright blue-green eyes and smiled.

    Riku Kiyoshi
    1st Year Student

    "I will mom." He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before stepping out of the car and onto the wet pavement, the car rode off as Riku put on his grey snapback hat with a black bill on backwards, the same design that was on his crewneck was on his hat. "THE HUNDREDS" with a small cartoon bomb between the two words. He adjusted his low hanging golde pendant before walking down towards the school, Shibuya High School was famous for their successful american football club. Which Riku was a captain of, even though it was just his first year on the team, they were to play the Chiyoda Trojans on Friday for the Tokyo City Championship. He put on his Beats headphones on and completely drowned out the world around him with his hip hop music. He merely smiled as people passing by waved to him, he'd pretend to know what they said when he spoke to him then walked off. He was pretty sure they were just wishing him good luck on the game friday, so he just smiled and nodded his head.

    He entered the large automatic glass doors and stepped into the hall, he wasn't used to seeing his classmates dressed like this which was a very different change of pace from the every day school uniforms. It didn't make a difference to Riku, the girls would look incredible either way. He entered his classroom and looked around, yup...it DEFINITELY didn't bother Riku one bit. He didn't really know every boy in his class, but he definitely knew every girl. He sat down before looking over his shoulder and seeing the girl he's chosen as the best looking girl in his class, Kayla Minako.

    "Riku-kun!!" She squealed as he sat down, the boy smiled when she stood up and hugged him. He adjusted his glasses and leaned over on her desk behind him,

    "Hi Kayla, so have you noticed all the weird stuff going on around town?" He raised an eyebrow, the girl nodded her head vigorously.

    "YES! It to~tally ruined my weekend! I'm so mad!" She frowned, Riku chuckled.

    "You're really cute when you're mad." He smiled, the girl giggled and blushed. The girl next to them just rolled her eyes, thats when Ms. Chu walked in, their history teacher. Riku sighed and opened up his notebook with less enthusiasm than he had when he had summer camp for football. Ms. Chu was a young and attractive teacher, this was his favorite time of the day. She looked up to the class and almost screamed when the lights above crackled and popped, the plastic shards raining down on the students.

    "Underneath your desks!" Ms. Chu screamed. Riku grabbed his cap from his desk and ducked underneath his desk, cursing under his breath. Just a few moments after a beam of light pierced the pitch darkness of the room, it was the voice of his principal.

    "What happened in here?!" He shouted into the large class, Riku stood up and wiped off the dirt from his clothes before turning to Kayla. She smiled, telling Riku she was alright. Ms. Chu stood up and walked over to the principal, they spoke for a few short moments before they told everyone to exit the class. He put his arm around Kayla and walked out of class, "I'm glad you're okay!" She grabbed his hand that around her shoulder and smiled, "Me too!" She giggled. They were relocated to the classroom next door, it was empty because it was just used for their music club after school. The rest of the day was uneventful, with the lights only flickering a few times as opposed to nearly every five minutes like the past two days. The final bell of the day rung, and Riku walked with Kayla out of the back exit of the school.

    The festive scenery of the quad opened up towards them, banners and colorful decorations filled the quad. The first thing Riku saw was three of his teammates in the center stage of the quad. Kudo was up there, as well as the other two captains. "Well look who we have here! Right on time, the final captain of the American Football Team! Come on over here!" A young girl his age spoke into the microphone in her hand, they always have these little games during pep rallies and this time the captains were part of it. So Riku said bye to Kayla and walked up onto the stage. "And now, here is Coach Watanuki of the American Football Club to present the captains with their awards!" Riku smirked, he never saw eye to eye with Coach and he loved the fact he had to give him the award. His phone vibrated in his pocket, he picked the Android up and the caller ID was some weird internet address. He looked up to see everyone else in the crowd answering their phone as well, Riku answered the call and pressed it up to his ear. In a robotic, monotone voice he heard, "Moshi-Moshi-Moshi-Moshi-Moshi-" Over and over again, he hung up quickly and looked around. Everyone one had already put their phones away and were cheering once again, he raised an eyebrow as he scanned the crowd. No one else thought that was weird, NO ONE? He sighed when his coach walked in front of him and turned to the crowd,

    "And to Riku Kiyoshi, Rookie of the Year!" The crowd cheered and Riku smiled and waved to the crowd, the smile faded when his coach's grip on his shoulder tigtened. "You're lucky you're getting this award, I could have easily awarded it to anyone else." Riku smirked as his coach walked away, once the remaining award of Offensive Player of the Year was given to his friend Kudo the coach walked away and the Pep commisioner grabbed the microphone yet again. The girl was quiet peppy, "Well now that that's out of the way, on to our game! We're going to blindfold the captains here and have one lucky girl get paired up-"

    The pep rally ended around seven in the afternoon, the sun was beginning to set. Riku's mom was busy at work so he had to take the subway, he slapped on his headphones and pulled out his phone and started to text to entertain himself. It wasn't long before he reached the subway station, the ride over to his house was long and quiet but his music took him to his own world. The crowd of people leaked out of the subway car when it reached its destination in Shibuya Station, he walked out and managed to avoid getting trampled by the mob of people flooding into the car. He looked around to see white snow resting on the shoulders of people coming into the statilon, wet clothes and soggy suitcases. It was snowing? How strange, he still saw sunshine leaking into the station from outside. He raised an eyebrow and took a step forward, then his body felt as if it was glued to the ground. He couldn't move, gravity pressing down onto his body. His head burned and his ears started to ring, the constant chatter of the subway was completely muted. Then an elderly voice echoed in his head,

    "Five strange fingers form Fate's hand,
    Each one plays part at Fate's command.

    A clouded past, the answers it keeps,

    Until its time each secret sleeps.
    When pain is truth and truth is pain,
    The Evil of The Past shall be freed again.
    Five shall go but five shall not return,
    Vain hope and pride in terror burn."

    The ringing in his ear went away, and when he looked around the subway was barren. Pieces of paper floating around. His eyes darted upwards, there was a short figure facing his way. He couldn't tell for sure if the figure was staring at him, the shadow casted by his brown hood covering his face. But when he looked around again, they were the only two in the station so he had to be looking at him. Riku turned his iPod off and put his headphones away slowly, then stepped back. The man grinned and looked up, the shadows fading away. He was a wrinkly old man, with bulgy eyes and a large white mustache not to mention a number of missing teeth, "Don't be afraid Riku." Riku's eyebrows furrowed, who was this man? He turned around to head to the alternate exit, he froze in his tracks. His very core was frozen in fear, the man was right in front of him. He snatched his left hand and held it up against his face,

    "Get away from me you freak!!" Riku shouted, and tried to pull away. To his amazement, the man didn't budge despite his age. Riku tried and tried but the man merely smiled, thats when Riku's hand started to glow red. Riku's eyes widened, a red pattern etched itself into his hand in glowing blue light. It was a circle with wings, Riku stopped struggling out of amazement of what was going on. The man smiled, "I see, so Riku is indeed a Chosen Child. The Chosen Child of Diligence." The man spoke out and backed up a few steps, Riku grabbed his left wrist and stared as the man chuckled to himself.

    "Who are you old man?" Riku asked, the man's smile faded and looked up at Riku.

    "Do not worry Child of Diligence, just know you're time is near..." Riku's eyes widened. Time?

    Season One: The Digital Invaders Arc

    Adventure One: Digital World Open!

    Part A: Let's Get This Party Started In Here!!

    Cyber-terrorist? I thought as the news continued on. There is just no way. I guess you could say that I was a little annoyed by the fact that the country was being rather ignorant. I decided to leave the room, grabbing my bag and calling bye to my dad.

    I completely forgot about my uniform, not that I actually needed it. We were in the middle of Spirit Week at Shibuya High and we were favored to win the tournament finals. It may not be a good week for Tokyo but it sure was for my school!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    After I had reached my class, I realized that everyone was just as excited. Some kids wore the school colors while others had their hair dyed. As soon as I sat down, Sora and Kazumi were practically on top of me.
    "Are you going to the pep rally?" Kazumi asked, eager for the answer.
    "Of course," I replied. I watched as her face lit up and I have to say, Sora's did too. We hadn't hung out since the lunch at the mall and it would be fun. I watched as the bell rang, telling everyone to sit down. You could still see the anticipation on everyone's faces.
    Soon after we heard an explosion next door in Ms. Chu's class. Everyone, including me, stood up and ran for the door to see everyone piling out and into the old music room. I didn't find out til later what had really happened but alot of rumors had spread about it by the end.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    "Finally!" I yelled as the final bell rang. That got some major cheering from the class. Kazumi soon came up, grabbing mine and Sora's hands. She pulled us both to the schools quad where the pep rally was being held. We each sat down in the back row as Coach Watanuki, the captains beside him, started his speech and gave away awards. Boy, this will be an interesting day!

    Just as the rookie of the year was ready to receive his award nearly everyone's phones started to ring or vibrate. Everyone answered and immediately hung up as if they didn't care. I check my Droid to see some long number across the screen.

    I looked at it for awhile before answering. The voice was odd and mechanical, yet it repeated the same thing over and over again. I ended the call saying wrong number and looked around. Still it seemed no one cared except one other. It was the rookie of the year, Riku I think was his name, and he looked around suspiciously in the same way I did. I pushed the thought away as the awards started again.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    We managed to sit through the rest of the speeches and awards without anymore odd occurrences. Luckily, the games were just about to start! Sora ended up beating nearly everyone in one of the games of musical chairs while Kazumi and I won a wheelbarrow with me as the wheelbarrow. All of lost the four-legged race after we tripped over each other.
    We played nearly the whole night ending the fun with our favorite, "Let's see how many people we can fit into a car!" game. Each of their parents came to pick them up, both offering a ride. I declined their offers, saying I'd rather walk.
    I watched as they both left, thoughts about both of them. I finally started to walk toward my home. Except... This is when the stranger stuff started to happen.
    A lightning strike happened across the field I was by, followed by the loudest thunder I had ever heard. It got even weirder as snow started falling. Ya, I said snow. What in god's name? I thought. I stepped closer to the house, now in sight when something happened...
    I just froze and yet, everything else did too. A voice had than crawled out of my head, letting me hear it.
    "Five strange fingers form Fate's hand,
    Each one plays part at Fate's command.
    A clouded past, the answers it keeps,
    Until its time each secret sleeps.
    When pain is truth and truth is pain,
    The Evil of The Past shall be freed again.
    Five shall go but five shall not return,
    Vain hope and pride in terror burn."
    The echo finished and I gained control of my body once more. Suddenly, I take a step back. Right in front of me stood a squat shape in a brown robe, his face hidden in darkness. He lifted his head, revealing an unattractive, though not grotesque face with missing teeth and a big white mustache.
    "Be calm Hiro, don't be afraid," the man said. I just stared at him. How does he know my name? I finally turned, ready to run but he was there. Right in front of me...
    He wrenched my hand upward to his face. I pulled as best I could, yet it didn't budge. What is he gonna do to me? I wasn't usually the scared type but you would've been too. I tried pulling my hand away as he smiled.
    Suddenly, as if he wanted it to happen, my hand started to shine in an odd pattern. I couldn't even think before the man chuckled.
    "I was right," he said to me, "You are one of the chosen children." I finally pulled my hand away saying, "Who are you?"
    He just looked at me, a smile still on his face. "You will soon know," he said, disappearing in a rainbow of light.
    KATO AKI - second year student
    Episode 1 - Part A
    "So, there was this guy dressed up as that guy from Final Fantasy but the teachers said he had to go change!"
    "Haha, seriously? That's so weird! Who was it?"
    "I have no idea but I know he'll probably be in the most disgusting clothes now."
    "Awesome. Did you see him Katta-kun? ... Katta-kun? Koneko-chan!" Aki blinked and turned to his female companions. Haru huffed at him and flicked his forehead when he shrugged in reply. He hadn't really been listening. C'mon, girl stuff! How could they expect him to listen. He'd only been shoved together with them since they were in the same uneventful class as he was before. A few doors down had had some excitement but no, not his. Now, they were supposedly meeting up with everyone else at the pep rally but the way that they were going, they weren't going to meet anyone anywhere soon. Haru flicked Aki's head again and knocked him out of his trance. Again.
    "Stop that," he rubbed his head and gave Haru a funny look. Time for a subject change. "What's up with this weird weather? It's so cold." He pulled his coat around him tighter. If there was one thing that Aki despised, it was the cold.
    "I don't know, I think it's kind of awesome. It's summer but we don't have to watch the juniors running around in barely anything!" Kimi nodded, watching a small group of juniors walk in front of them, huddling together. Aki shook his head and gave Kimi a funny look. She was known to wear cute and skimpy outfits so she was definitely not one to talk.
    "It's about as weird as my phone," Haru pulled her own out and played around it between her fingers. Aki nodded in agreement. The phones were still down and it sucked. True, Aki much preferred to text than talk but it meant that he couldn't easily ring his mum to pick him up. She was bad enough with answering her phone and she couldn't text at all. He'd save the grief this afternoon and walk it home.
    The pep rally went as it went last year; loud. They three eventually met up with rest of their group but the presence of other males didn't really help Aki's mood. As he watched the rally, he couldn't help feeling nervous. Nervous? Was that the right word? Maybe anxious. He just wanted to go home. But he couldn't. He had to watch this stupid rally and clap as the stupid football players walked across the stupid stage and shake hands with the stupid special guests and take their stupid awards.
    The first award was announced and there was a vibrating in Aki's pocket. Slow to answer, the rest of the crowd did. There was a loud chorus of people, answering their phones. Not even bothering to answer his, taking it as another bug, he looked at the sender. It was long, the number was. Long and suspicious. More clues, more insight to this so called cyber terrorist? Aki smiled a little and saved the number in his phone. The rest of the crowd however, put their phones away and acted as if nothing happened. Stupid people, can't you see something is up!?
    After the ceremony, Kimi and Haru tried to pull him into a carnival game, the one with the rings and the bottles, but Aki shook his head and watched with Yoshida and Vivi, exchanging small talk about how bad Sarah was at it. As soon as the rally was over, Aki took his first chance of getting out of there. Yoshida and Kimi followed, their homes the same way as Aki's, waving goodbye to the others as they walked home in the opposite direction. It was getting quite late so walking home in numbers was a good idea, especially for the girls.
    "So what do you think is up with the electronics?" Yoshida started the conversation anew. Aki silently thanked him, the last one was getting boring; nobody wanted to talk about Kimi's experience at 109.
    "I don't know. I've heard there's one of those digital terrorists. Sounds cool," Aki nodded. He had taken quite an interest into it but since his internet was down, the only way he could research about it was the newspapers and heresay. Somewhat tedious but it was worth it to find out what was going on.
    "That sounds like crap," Kimi shook her head.
    "I hope it is crap. I buy loads of stuff on the internet, I don't want my details to be st-- whoa, what the hell?!" Yoshida stopped as a bolt of lightning flashed in the distance, making a cracking sound, piercing the air. That was normal during the summer, but not when there had been no sign of a storm for the past several days. There weren't even any considerable clouds in the sky now, the afternoon sun was the only thing noticeable other than a few thin clouds skimming across the horizon. There was a wet cold feeling on Aki's head and he looked up. Rain? No... sn-snow?
    "What is going on?" Aki caught a snowflake in his hand an inspected it. It was summer for christ's sake! Summer!! How could it be getting colder?
    "Ah! It's like Christmas in July!" Kimi danced around a little in the falling snow.
    "Too weird," Yoshida shook his head disbelievingly. Aki agreed. First the electronics, now this?! Aki couldn't help feeling they were connected. The feeling in his stomach got worse. He just wanted to go home.
    The three split off, Kimi and Yoshida's homes at the end of the next street over while Aki's was still a fair walk to go. They waved goodbye and left Aki by himself, left him to try and think up a reason why his computer and phone wasn't working, why when he bought a chocolate, it was about 50x more than it should have been, why it was snowing. Then Aki stopped. He... he couldn't move! There was a like a spark of electricity through his body and a voice echoed in his head.
    "Five strange fingers form Fate's hand,
    Each one plays part at Fate's command.
    A clouded past, the answers it keeps,
    Until its time each secret sleeps.
    When pain is truth and truth is pain,
    The Evil of The Past shall be freed again.
    Five shall go but five shall not return,
    Vain hope and pride in terror burn."
    The voice left as quickly as it came and the feeling in Aki's body returned to him. He could walk again! But he didn't. A hooded man... an ugly, moustached one, Aki saw as he removed his hood, stood a few feet in front of him. A homeless? There weren't any homeless people in Shibuya, were there? Not in this part of it, anyways. What was he doing here? And he just appeared out of nowhere!
    "Are you lost, mister? Shibuya town is that way!" Aki pointed a finger back towards the way he came and stepped back. This man... he just made the feeling in Aki's stomach even worse. The man gave a small smile in reply.
    "Do not be afraid, Kato Aki," the man said, stepping foward. Aki stepped back.
    "How do you know my name?" Aki took another step. He wanted to be as far away from this man as possible.
    "I will not hurt you, Aki-san," the man took a few steps and Aki responded by turning the the opposite direction. There was another way home, he would take it. It was a lot longer but he just wanted to get away from this man. Except the man was there when Aki turned around, there with an ugly smile on his face. Aki could see all the creases on his face, how many teeth he was missing, how disgusting his face actually looked. He grabbed Aki's wrist and thrust it in front of his eyes. Aki tried to pull back, he tried to struggle but he was frozen, just like before. His hand glowed and a symbol appeared on his hand. Like a circle and a triangle? The man chuckled and let go and Aki regained the use of his body, but not before he fell to the ground. He look up and the man was smiling with that ugly smile again.
    "A chosen child," the man grinned. "You are a chosen child. Of curiosity." And with that, there was a flash of colour and he was gone. Aki was left alone again, leaning against his hands on the ground. He blinked. Did that really just happen?
    "What the crap is going on?!"
    Digimon Adventure: NEXT!
    Adventure One: Digital World Open.!
    Part A
    "Here dear, finish your breakfast and then get going or you'll be late." Sakura's grandmother said handing a plate of fresh baked pancakes with a bit of cherry syrup on top.
    "It looks delicious. Don't worry I'll make it in time." Were her words just before she started eating.
    Three days past since the strange " electronical " day Sakura had on her way home and things have been getting worse and worse. On Sunday the weather acted like a moody girl changing from one hour to the other …..you looked out the window and you saw that it was sunny and after a while looking again out the window it was raining. And in went the whole day like that back and forth from sunny to rainy. Monday made one step further, the weather kept toying with the people's eyes but apart from that the telephone line started to be cut one by one and mobile phones being interrupted as you speak with somebody. Tuesday came with another hit….. electrical appliances went haywire and Sakura experienced this earlier today as she tried to put some clothes in the dryer. The dryer opened and the clothes flew out as the motor was going faster and faster. Sakura tried to stop it but she just received a blouse over her head, she took it off and pulled the plug on the dryer.
    "Well I'm off..." the girl said as she took her bag and took her shoes on.
    "Goodbye dear!!"
    Shinigawa High was just at a 15 minutes walk distance so the girl decided to walk instead of getting the subway. Sakura was dressed in her favourite clothes and not in her uniform, this was due to the fact that this week was "spirit week" and tomorrow night Shinigawa High was going against Edogawa High for the third place in the Tokyo City Tournament. Sakura wasn't really into this kind of sport , she's more of a tennis player, and the fact that she wasn't really miss popular didn't make her want to go to matches that much. She arrived to school and the cold and chilly weather, that didn't seem to get the attention of the people in the city, was similar to how the girl from Sakura's class looked at her every time she entered the class. Sakura knew that the strange weather had to do with the strange electronical disturbances that have been all over.
    The hours passed and the only surprising thing that had happened was in fact a surprise pop quiz at biology, but for Sakura it wasn't that big of a deal. It had been o boring day when the bell ringed announcing the end of this school day ....... but strangely only several children passed the front gate and went home. Today was the last pep rally before the last game of the tournament and everybody was psyched about the after party. Sakura decided to go to see how a pep rally was here in Tokyo, maybe she would get the chance to be accepted instead of just being pushed away. Everybody headed towards the school gym, some running to get a good spot, others were waiting for some friends so they would be together and some went by themselves. Sakura was in the third group, the entrance to the gym was decorated with a big flag which had written the following words "Towards victory and beyond....". The place had a removable stage which now was decorated with the school's name and a lot of stickers and flags. The energetic and well known mascot was on the left corner of the stage it was a white spotted tiger. In the back the school had prepared some punch and snacks and of course a DJ that would animate the party. The gym was full in not time and in a matter of minutes the cheerleaders went on stage and started doing a routine to lift the spirits of the crowd to welcome the team. After their dance the team captain of the cheerleaders , Ayame which was in Sakura's class, had planned to make fun of Sakura with the pretext that they would chose one girl from the audience and if she would do a good routine she would become a cheerleader. Of course you could guess who got picked to get on stage. Sakura was looking right into Ayame's eyes as she walked onto the stage.
    "So now our new transferred student will try to....entertain us. The music please."
    Sakura closed her eyes as the music started......it was "Girlfriend" from Avril Lavigne's album. "Okay you're better that her so don't let your fear take over." And with those words Sakura opened her eyes and started dancing life she had done this for years. She let her body guided by the melody and before she knew it the crown was cheering for her , she didn't take dance lessons but she always danced in her room with her earplugs on. "Okey guys now let me hear you!!!!" She said trying to pump the crown even more after she looked at Ayame which was as mad as ever. Sakura jumped into the air and doing a spin and landed on her feet with one pointing up and one waving through her hair. The crowd burst into more cheers....her dance was outstanding and everybody was cheering her name. Ayame entered the stage and took the mic.
    "As you all decided she is fit to be on our cheerleading squad. So welcome to the team Sakura."
    Sakura took the mic. "Thank you all for your pleasant cheers and I appreciate it but cheerleading isn't my thing so I'll have to refuse." then she offered the mic to Ayame and whispered so only Ayame could hear her: "I don't like people who like to laugh at other people for their own amusement… but this joke was on you....and next time watch out as you can see .....I strike back." And then she went down being applauded by the whole school. After that the team captains were awarded with a trophy for their hard work and the party started. Sakura stayed about an hour or so dancing and talking with some girls that now were fond of her. Then she leaved as it was 8 pm already and it was kind of late. She walked down the sidewalk alone as the other remained at the party....she put her earplugs on and continued walking the sun going down with every minute.
    Then in the far distance Sakura saw a bolt of lightning that crossed the sky followed up by a loud crack of thunder. The girl stopped while this happened and watch the phenomenon.
    "Oww" Sakura said putting her hand at her neck.
    She looked and saw a drop of water that had fallen onto her. Then a white snowflake landed onto her nose. She lifted her head and saw snowflakes falling from a nearby cloud.
    "Snow?!?! In this time of the year.? You could still see the sun but it was snowing like in December. Sakura kept walking getting close to her house. She was still baffled by the snow, but this week she had a share of strange things so this was just another thing to add to her list. As she wanted to make another step she froze in her tracks, her music was still running. She panicked a bit and what made her state worse was that her music stopped and then a voice echoed in her ears :
    "Five strange fingers form Fate's hand,
    Each one plays part at Fate's command.
    A clouded past, the answers it keeps,
    Until its time each secret sleeps.
    When pain is truth and truth is pain,
    The Evil of The Past shall be freed again.
    Five shall go but five shall not return,
    Vain hope and pride in terror burn."
    As she heard the last word she unfroze but she didn't move. She was facing a stranger with a brown robe with a hood that was shadowing his face. The stranger lifted his hands and removed his hood revealing an old man with thin eyebrows and a white moustache. Sakura
    took another step back.
    "Don't be afraid lovely Sakura."
    Sakura turned and she wanted to run but the man was in front oh her again. Sakura turned her head back as she wanted to know how the man had appeared in front oh her , as a few minutes ago him was behind her. The man grabbed her wrist and Sakura started struggling , trying to break free from his grip. The man started smiling as Sakura's hand began to glow. Her had formed a strange rose pink symbol , the girl noticing only a shape of a hearth with a rose in it from the symbol, as the rest was to shaded by the light . Sakura stood still, being amazed by what was happening before her eyes.
    " So you really are a Digidestined!!"
    "Let me go!!" Sakura yelled at the man.
    "Of course Child of Compassion.....but hear me well......your destiny calls for you.......believe in yourself all the way..." he said as he disappeared in a flash of multicolored sparks.
    "Compassion.....Destiny.....?????" the girl said as she stood motionless looking at the fading sparks.
    Episode 1, Part A
    First Year, Matsutane Kiyoko
    Despite the erratic weather conditions that had plagued Tokyo the previous few days, Wednesday morning of Chiyoda High School's spirit week started rather warm and pleasant. Kiyoko Matsutane knew this because she was in the school tennis courts at 8:00am, watching one of her friends practise. As the sun struggled to peep out from behind a generous amount of cloud, she shuddered and stretched out across the bleachers, watching the team rallying between one another. There was no reason for her being there, other than to accompany her friend. The girls lived close together, and Kiyoko's father gave them a ride to school every Wednesday, rather than them taking the train. It was actually more convenient for her to sleep in and take the train, but Yukimura-san had no other way of getting in early enough for tennis practice, or so she said.
    At least it's not raining
    , she thought. Though I did bring my umbrella just in case.
    "Okay guys!" She heard the team captain, a senpai of theirs, call from the court. The girls assembled beside the nets and listened to what they were to do next. The captain pointed her racket towards two of them and off they ran to go fetch something. The mystery object turned out to be an automatic ball-firing machine, and Kiyoko recognised the exercise as one of the team's warm downs. They split off into two teams and the captain would have them hitting balls one after another until someone missed.
    "Go Yukimura-san!" Encouraged Kiyoko when it was her turn to face off against the machine. One ball shot out, swiftly followed by another. The girl dealt with both with two well-timed backhand strokes but was not prepared for the barrage that succeeded them. Squeals sounded across the court as the machine went absolutely haywire, firing tennis balls as if its life depended on it and making worrying beeping noises - even when the captain tried to turn it off it continued to pelt the girls with the yellow spheres. Of course, the supply was not infinite and the machine finally stopped, clicking sounds of the mechanism persisting until the plug was wrenched from the back.
    "I just thought it was phones and computers that were acting up," Yukimura-san pouted in the girls' changing rooms once everyone had cleared up and headed inside. Despite it being the third day, Kiyoko still found it strange seeing everyone out of their uniforms. Sailor fuku, skirts, trousers, shirts and black shoes had been exchange for barely-there minis, low-cut tees and baggy jeans. In comparison to most of the other girls, she was dressed very conservatively in her t-shirt and shorts combo, even if the shorts showed more of her legs than her father would have liked.
    "Mmm..." Kiyoko wrinkled her nose in thought, casting her mind back to the incident in the park.
    "Oh yeah, I heard that you and Mayumi hung out with Jirou-kun's gang the other day. How was it?"
    "It was okay," she sighed, shifting her bag to her other shoulder and glancing up at the ceiling as Yukimura-san took her shirt off. She looked back down again once the hot pink material covered her friend's chest once again, not that there was much material there.
    "'Cuz Mayumi was like, "She fainted! And Jirou-kun didn't even look at me!""
    Kiyoko puffed her cheeks out in disdain, earning her a bout of high-pitched
    laughter and a pat on the back.
    "Don't be so worried. You know what she's like about the guys she crushes on. There'll probably be a new one next week; I'm surprised he's lasted this long."
    "I guess," she shrugged disinterestedly, despite her feelings being the opposite. "We should get to class before homeroom starts."
    No one paid much attention to the classes that went on that morning, what with the pep rally scheduled for the afternoon. Sure enough, no sooner had the lunch bell sounded the corridors were swamped with teens rushing down to the gym. Kiyoko was not bothered with the football players, despite Tesuna-san and Yukimura-san both fawning over the males standing up on the stage.
    "Hey."
    She almost flinched when the hand touched her shoulder, her heart instantly accelerating.
    "J-Jirou-kun."
    "You look kinda bored - wanna come outside? Our senpai challenged us to a race or two."
    Kiyoko gnawed her lower lip in contemplation, eyes flitting to her friends who seemed obivious to everything but the football team. It was only a few games, wasn't it? Therefore she gave Jirou-kun her best smile and joined her fellow first years outside. The brunette had a whale of a time, even though the juniors and seniors trounced the freshmen. By the time the festivities were over her arms ached and her knees were covered in grass stains, but Kiyoko didn't care one bit.
    "Ne, Matsutane!" The voice of Tesuna-san soon shattered her happiness; Kiyoko's eyes widened at the expression upon her friend's face. "Time to go home." With the way Tesuna-san was glaring at her, she had no choice to submit - even with Jirou-kun telling her to stick with them, they were going for karaoke.
    "Sorry," the young girl sighed, eyes fixed to the sky above them; it was less overcast than before.
    "Yeah, I think you should be. Swanning off like that to cuddle up to Jirou-kun while we were looking everywhere for you."
    Pfft, didn't realise that 'everywhere' meant wherever the football team were, was what she thought in her head, what Kiyoko wanted to say. Instead, she held her tongue and allowed them to complain about how Eiibara, the school's idol, was allowed to present one of the trophies. Kiyoko was still watching the sky; between the tall buildings she noticed a sudden white streak tear through the heavens. It was followed by a rumble of thunder and the screams of the other girls.
    "What the--" She remarked, cutting herself off when the most absurd thing happened. Despite it being nowhere near winter, snow tumbled down upon them. Her companions, already weirded out by the strange conditions, made their excuse and bundled into the nearest store they could. Kiyoko on the other hand was glad to get away from them, even if she had no idea what was going on.
    The youngster checked her watch, knowing that her mother would expect her home soon - her second reason for continuing. By now she was walking along the road located in the more residential area of Chiyoda, only a few blocks from home, only a few more steps...
    Kiyoko froze on the spot, her entire body shuddering as it was subjected to the strangest feeling. She was not a believer in ghosts, but it was the sort of thing she'd expect to feel if one was around. And then:
    "Five strange fingers form Fate's hand,
    Each one plays part at Fate's command.
    A clouded past, the answers it keeps,
    Until its time each secret sleeps.
    When pain is truth and truth is pain,
    The Evil of The Past shall be freed again.
    Five shall go but five shall not return,
    Vain hope and pride in terror burn."
    She rubbed her forehead with her palm, shaking her head and glancing around her. There had been no one else walking this way, and she would have heard a car or bicycle.
    "Perhaps someone's got music on or something..." She murmured, intending to walk as quickly as she could back to her apartment. She did not intend on there being a brown, hooded figure obstructing her path. Kiyoko took a step back, unsure as to what to make of this. The figure seemed to straighten, allowing her to see what was beneath the hood. Kiyoko cringed. It was a man, he was smiling at her with the ugliest smile she had ever seen. Repulsed, she took a second step back.
    "I don't have any money! And my father works on the police force and we live right in that house over there!"
    The man chuckled lowly to himself. "Matsutane Kiyoko... Perhaps I should change my appearance so you children aren't so scared of me? You have no reason to be afraid..."
    Her mother had warned her of this so many times: there were people out there who preyed on high school girls solely for their own sick perversion. How did he know her name? She wanted to scream, to run away, but a gnarly hand clamped itself about her slender wrist.
    "Ahhh! Get off!" She shrieked, voice falling on deaf ears. Try as she might, her legs would not move, and as she attempted to wrench herself free a series of glowing, purple lines appeared to be tattooed on the back of her hand. "What are you doing to me?!"
    Another chuckle. "... You were the last one I had to find, Chosen Child of Perseverence; I'm glad that I persevered myself. Do you get it? Oh, nevermind... You'll understand soon enough."
    Before she could react any further, he released her from his grasp and disappeared in a flash of variously coloured light. Kiyoko mewled quietly, clutching her arm in the place where he had latched on and ran home as fast as her (no longer paralysed) legs could carry her.
    KATO AKI - second year student
    Episode 1 - Part B
    The door made a thud as Aki closed it behind him. He quickly looked at his phone. 7:27pm. Crap. Wait for it... Three, two, one... No? Hm, maybe she wasn't home yet. Aki shrugged and slid his shoes off.
    "AKI?! IS THAT YOU?" Ah, there she was. Aki made his way up the stairs, smiling. The roar of a mother. "Why are you home so late?"
    "Pep rally," he said as he walked through the lounge room, making his way to his room. He stopped to see the TV (oh, it was working now!) blaring, Yuki sitting on the couch. He almost looked asleep but obviously wasn't as he looked up at his brother and grinned sheepishly.
    "You meet up with a girl, Aki-chan? You get raped, Aki-chan?" Yuki laughed. Aki shook his head disapprovingly.
    "Shut up."
    "That's nothing to laugh about, Yuki," their mother's voice echoed from the kitchen. Aki quickly threw his bag into his room and joined his older brother on the couch. Surprisingly, he had the news on, which was showing some kind of report about the electric outages and the supposed digital terrorist. Aki snatched the remote from his brother's grip and turned it up. There wasn't anything new mentioned about the problems themselves, only that the phones would be down but services such as texting and leaving messages were still available. Ugh, boring!
    The brothers' father came home soon after Aki and the family ate dinner. As soon as he was done, Aki thanked his mother for the meal and excused himself from the table, retreating to his room. He slumped onto his bed and ran his fingers through his hair, thinking. Had before... had it really happened? Did he see a man, a disgustingly ugly one at that, and did said man grab him then disappear into thin air? His fingers moved from his hair to his eyebrow piercing. Chosen child? And that voice! It was all so weird. That and the digital malfunctions, plus the anxious feeling in his stomach he just could not shake. And the snow! Ugh, maybe it was just spirit week and how ironically miserable it made Aki feel. Sighing, he pulled his laptop out from under his bed and booted it up. Hopefully it was working now.
    Huzzah! Success!! The laptop booted with no troubles and Aki even managed to connect to the Internet without any kind of static. He logged into his chat client and opened an explorer window at lightning speed as if the laptop would at any moment spontaneously combust in front of his eyes. As he used his precious time researching the strange things happening in Japan, a window popped up from the chat client. A distraction? Great. The Internet could cut out at any time and somebody emails him. Awesome. Precious time wasted. It was 8:01pm. This email better not take any longer than a minute.
    Aki didn't have to switch windows, the computer did it itself. Closing his web browser and the chat client, the email opened full screen and began downloading. Oh, hell! A... virus!? He hadn't even downloaded anything or read the email! Maybe... maybe it was the digital terrorist! Crap, crap, crap, crap! He tried to cancel but he didn't even have time to; it had already downloaded. He glanced at the sender. @@@@@@djm.ndes.co.jp/sys/switchboard. Yeah, that made sense. Before he had time to google the address, it closed and all of the icons disappeared from his desktop, leaving only the downloaded file.
    Digital World?
    There was a blue flash then... falling.
    Aki groaned loudly, pulling his face off the dew soaked grass. Wait, grass? He quickly sat up and immediately regretted it; his body felt like crap all over. Especially his head. Everything was dizzy and... no, seriously, grass? Aki looked around. Trees? And... in the distance... mountain ranges? Waterfalls? Rainforests? What the hell?! He could've sworn that he was in his room and he didn't remember falling asleep. Or... did he? He remembered falling, but not asleep. Maybe he was dreaming. That would explain why he was in a rainforest for christ's sake. It felt... too real though. He could feel the cold chill in the air, his warm, shaky breath steaming. It was cold and it sucked. Well, whatever. He got to his feet and dusted the wet grass off him. Mum must have stuck something in the food and this was the food poisoning hallucination dreams. Yeah. That kind of made sense.
    Taking the most of this, he walked. Just in any general direction, he suspected the dream would end soon so he might as well check this subconscious world of his out. He walked past these large trees, which led to some more trees, which around the corner from that was a bunch of other trees. And... Yes look! More trees! This world, despite being something Aki had never seen before, was fast growing boring. If he wanted to see a world with identical trees everywhere, he would play a video game. Like Oblivion or something, he didn't care. Something else other than this. He stopped as he heard a loud, deafening roar and the ground beneath him began to vibrate viciously.
    "E-earthquake?" he stammered as he fell to knees. Living in Japan, he had felt his fair share of shakes but this one was as if... The roar itself was so loud, it created earthquakes! Not wanting to find out what was on the other end of that sound, Aki got up a quickly went as fast as he could in the opposite direction. It didn't take long before he came into a clearing, yet despite the lack of trees, the sky was unseeable through the canopy, the only light being the strips of light escaping through the barrier of leaves and glowing softly on the ground. He could feel a chilly breeze sweeping through the area. He folded his arms tightly around his chest; as he had explained many times, he hated the cold. His frown fell as he heard a faint melody, softly playing in... Some direction. He wasn't sure where.
    His heard turned towards the middle of the clearing and standing there was a stone pedestal, with nothing but the grass as company. He slowly walked over to it. It seemed... to call his name. It spoke a secret language to him, beckoning him closer. He obeyed and soon he was standing over it, his outstretched to touch it. Should he? Shouldn't he? He couldn't resist, it was far too interesting! He reached forward and placed his hand on it, feeling the cool stone against his skin. There was a silence that lasted a fraction of a second before a blinding light shone from underneath him, forcing him to cover his eyes. He let them open slightly, only to recognise the shape of the light. It was exactly the same as the one that had emitted from his hand when the old man had grabbed it. W-what did this all mean? Surely this couldn't all be real? The craziness hadn't finished yet as a small sphere of light slowly rose from the pedestal and hovered for a second, then launched itself at Aki's chest.
    "Aa... A-aahh!" A brilliant light filled the area, and Aki, out of instinct, squeezed his eyes tight. It was so bright, he couldn't see, even if he opened his eyes! The light finally faded and he felt a smooth weight of some kind in his hands. When it was dim enough for him to see, Aki slowly opened his eyes and looked at his hands. An egg?!
    His train of thought was quickly destroyed by a loud crash beside him. Aki jumped in surprise, then took several dozen steps backwards as he saw what exactly had made the roar earlier and what had just demolished that tree that made the loud crash. A freaking huge, red dinosaur. That breathed fire. Holy crap.
    "WHAT THE HELL?!" With no time to think, he held the egg tight in his arms and made a mad dash in the opposite direction. This couldn't be real, this couldn't possibly be real, could it? Dinosaurs had been extinct for millions of years!! Although Aki had not even thought about the possibility of someone randomly being teleported to a forest, having light come out of their hand or a large egg appear in their hand since that seemed like nothing compared to fire breathing dinosaurs.
    The egg in his hands started to glow, which could only mean more bad things were going to happen, right? Then, a voice echoed through his head again, the same as last time. Oh crap, what now? When would the weird things stop?!
    "They are chosen. Chosen from a group of young ones. Chosen based on their traits and characteristics. It is unknown who chose these children. When the time comes, they will be called upon to save those who selected them. Welcome to the Digital World, Digidestined."
    Aki's legs suddenly gave way and his vision went dark and thudded on the forest floor.
    Then he woke. He was... on his bed, his laptop blinking in front of him. He blinked back and quickly checked his phone. Had he been... had he been dreaming? 8:02pm. He almost laughed. The email had taken a minute. But his computer was dead, so it kinda voided it. But, in all seriousness, what... what had happened. He went to get up from his bed when he felt something roll down under him. A... The egg! What? Why... what was going on?!
    "Shouldn't you be studying?" Yuki's voice drifted past the door.
    Part B: Dinosaurs, Eggs, and... Computer Games???
    The house was rather silent as I walked in and away from the snow. My dad was doing paperwork at the table, a cold bowl of ramen beside him. As of lately his business, he is the head of computer programming and manufacturing there, has gotten less and less customers. I guess we can blame it on our supposed "Cyber-Terrorist." As I shut the door he simply gave me a solemn look before going back to the papers.
    I decided to skip watching the news this evening as what would they talk about? Oh yeah, the damn electronic attack. I headed to my room, hoping that my computer just may work. The only thing is, my mind kept switching to the old man.
    How did he know my name? I thought. Did he call me a chosen child? These thoughts were literally swarming in my head. I just didn't know what to do about it, but I definitely wasn't telling my dad. I did n't know if I should tell anyone, especially because I just didn't think I'd meet him again or find out what he meant. It was just to confusing.
    I soon started to push the thoughts out of my mine as I reached my room and my laptop, which was laying on my bed. I laid my back-pack on the floor as I sat down next to the computer. It's actually working, I thought as the internet actually opened and let me access my email.
    I only had six messages, five of which were from Sora and Kazumi making sure I was okay after the thunder and snow. The last one was the oddest. The sender was @@@@@@djm.ndes.co.jp/sys/switchboard, which was my dad's company. Why would they be sending me crap? I thought. I started to call for my dad when the all of my other messages closed and a download began.
    My mouth shut as I stared closer at the screen. Is it a virus? I asked myself. There's no reason they would send me something like this unless they were hacked... That's when the download finished. All that happened was a single new icon appeared. All I was look at it, thinking it was maybe a video game title. Suddenly, I read it aloud, not knowing why, "Digital World...?"
    I just sat there, fairly confused by it. I mean it sounded like a harmless game, except for all of those seizures and addictions they cause, not a virus. But as those thoughts came to me, the computer lit up a bright blue, covering the whole room. I didn't even have time to yell for help before I disappeared...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I woke up minutes later in a place I had never been to. I didn't even remember how I had gotten there, only falling. I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or simply going crazy. You would have thought that to if everywhere you looked there were only trees, each and every one being the same, and mountains in the distance with waterfalls colliding to the ground.

    Damnit!!! I thought, my head now pounding. Where the hell am I?! I guess I can say I was rather irritated and I didn't know what to do. I probably did the stupidest choice in this situation by walking away into the forest, but hey, there wasn't much else to do.

    I walked for awhile till I was completely confused. Every tree was exactly the same, just as I said before, and I didn't even though if I was walking in circles. Suddenly, I heard a roar, louder than any from the zoo. I froze in my tracks and the ground started to shake. I didn't know what it could be and even with my bravery, I definitely didn't want to find out. Anything that can make that happen is nothing you want to be near.

    I ran off in the opposite direction of the roar, contemplating at what could have caused it though the rest of me focused on running. I stopped awhile later in an odd clearing surrounded by tall trees that was nearly blocking the whole sun. A small, harmonious tune had formed somewhere in the area, causing me to look to the center of the clearing. There stood the only thing that was visible.

    It was a pedestal. It stood there, yet it seemed to beckon me to it, causing me to have an urge to touch it. I complied to the thought by moving forward and laying my right hand on the stone object. That's when the floor shown, making the same pattern that had been on my hand when the freaky old man touched it.

    I pulled my hand away as an oval-like sphere formed on the hard rock. The shape just threw itself at my chest, causing me to yell and throw my hands up to catch it. Within seconds the light became so overwhelming to the point that it had to fade. The only thing that was left was a single egg.

    I stood there, staring at it, more confused than scared. That is until I heard the trees snap... Right behind me stood a red dinosaur that started billowing flame into the air. It slammed its tail into the ground as it saw me and started running, straight to where I stood.

    Oh, crap, was the first thought that came to mind when I tried to turn and run, except I couldn't. I was frozen, just like with the old man and the egg started to shine. Than I heard the same person I was thinking about...

    "They are chosen.
    Chosen from a group of young ones.
    Chosen based on their traits and characteristics.
    It is unknown who chose these children.
    When the time comes, they will be called upon to save those who selected them.
    Welcome to the Digital World, Digidestined."

    My eyes suddenly went blank and I fell to the ground, egg still in hand.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The last thing I remembered was the feel of the grass as I woke up. It was 8:02, the same time I had gone. Was I just dreaming? I thought. I shook my head, trying to find the truth. That was until I saw what laid at the foot of my bed.
    It was the same, white and purple egg from the dream...
    (OOC: It looked alot better on the user notepad...)
    PART B
    Tokyo/Shibuya
    Wednesday, 7:15 PM
    Riku never really noticed how much he missed being at home until he saw the goldenrod pillion standing in front of the elevator. His peachy toned face jumped back at him when he gazed at the elevator, piercing blue eyes standing out, the doors were so polished they acted as mirrors. The elevator had broken down, like every other elevator in the city. He lived on the fourth floor, and although it wasn't that far up, using the staircase was alwas a chore. The golden haired boy sighed as he adjusted the sleeves at his elbows and turned around the corner once he reached the hallway at the top of the staircase. He looked behind him at the seemingly endless staircase and let out a sigh of relief, if everyone in America had to use these steps daily there would be no such thing as obesity. The company in charge of the large condo complex had just finished tiling the floor here resulting in glimmering gold and tope diamond tiles. Doors were on either side of the hallways, with names he had only known for a year. He soon stood in front of a clean white door with a small basket of flowers directly underneath a small red sign that read "Kiyoshi" clearly. With a turn of the golden knob, he knew he was home.
    The entrance was just some light tan carpet with a few pairs of shoes, one being his sister's and the other his mother's. He stepped down into the sunken living room and noticed the microwave baking some sort of cake, the timer was set for 30 minutes. Obviously way too long for a cake,
    "Hey mom, I think-" Riku looked around to see his mother sitting on the couch, nice looking teenage girl's clothes sprawled on the couches and a laptop with business graphs. Being the head of Shibuya 109 is a large responsibility. But at the moment she was absorbed in the news resport, it showed an image of a high tech room with a sea of people frantically typing on their computers.
    "Now for some breaking news. Currently in Tokyo, all cellular phone and landline phone services alike are experiencing difficulties...According to officials, this is because of heavy phone traffic and some areas have stopped working due to the call volume. Technicians are currently working to restore the downed switches, and are urging people to refrain from using the phone or cellular phone services all together."
    "Do you believe this Riku? Alot is happening lately." His mother pondered. He nodded and looked around wondering where his little sister was. As if knowing what her son was thinking, she answered, "Kimi is in her room working on her homework, you should do the same it's already very late." She said as she went back to typing on her computer, he nodded and walked up the stairs and into his room. The cool air floating around his room greeted Riku, he flipped the lights on and looked around. His large bed placed in a sunken cubicle in the center of his room with a flat screen tv at the foot of the bed. Several game consoles were plugged in and a glass sliding door was where the farthest wall should be, outside was a balcony with a mini fridge and bean bag chair. He sat down on the swiveling black chair before his desk and flipped open his laptop, biting his lip he tried to connect to the internet again. His last few endeavors didn't do much, but this time was different. Five green bars appeared at the bottom right corner of his screen and he smiled, adjusting his rayban glasses he logged on to Facebook where he still talks to his friends from Los Angeles. Almost as soon as he logged on a high-pitched tone sounded off and a box popped up from the bottom of his screen, he received an IM from a girl back in LA. He smiled and typed away for a few minutes,
    Me: Thing have been really weird here lately.
    Jessica Garcia: Here too! It's August but its been raining non stop!
    Me: That's ki
    Jessica: Huh?!
    Riku's blue eyes hovered over to the top of the screen where a red bubble popped up, he had received a message. He clicked it open, 8:01 pm and was from someone that wasn't even his friend. They didn't even have a name, just some kind of long web address: @@@@@@djm.ndes.co.jp/sys/switchboard. He raised an eyebrow and chose to not even open it, instead clicking back to the chat box with his friend. But instead the message opened, and showed a lone link. He squinted his eyes to try to read it, it was really long. Before he could even get a chance to see the link it started to dowload, Riku was slightly shocked and closed the window. But it just reappeared again, and before he had a chance to close it again it was finished downloading. A new icon was blinkin on his desktop, a high quality picture of the tournament semi-finals in the background. The icon was done blinking and the full name appeared underneath the strange little button. He inched closer to the screen, "Digital World...?" He leaned back in his chair and took off his glasses to rub his eyes, when he opened them his surrounding were engulfed in a flash of bright blue. Then he had the sensation of falling, his stomach flying up into his throat and his heart racing. He couldn't really see much, but knew he was flipping around and falling. Falling...and he kept falling...
    A flat computer monitor was left unattended, a blank white screen piercing the darkness of his room and a pair of lone glasses on his desk.
    "Riku! You're dinner is read!" His mother walked into his room and was shocked to see her son missing and a swiveling computer chair left unattended.
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________
    His deep blue eyes fluttered open, the sun beating down onto his peachy face and the clear blue sky dotted with only a few clouds. A cool breeze swept over the boy, his eyes peeled open and he shot upright. Sun, sky, clouds, breeze? He looked around, he was sitting in a large field of wet grass. Just where was he? He looked off into the distance to see a mountain range, the coast line just beside that and tropical trees all around him. He quickly bounced up to his feet and immediately doubled over in pain, he felt horrible, like he had just been blindsided by a 200 lb professional football player. He quickly recovered and looked deeply in the ocean of tropical trees before him, that seemed to be the only way to go so without hesitation he walked through the bushes and into the forest. After a few minutes Riku groaned and put his hands behind his head as he turned in circles obvserving his surroundings, everything was exactly the same.
    'Have I been walking in circles or something?' Riku thought to himself, he wiped the sweat off his brow. The rainforest was humid, very humid. He pulled up the sleeves of his crewneck sweatshirt and frowned at the sight of his ruined socks. He had taken off his shoes when he entered his house so he was stuck in his socks in this foreign place. His mind was completely taken off the subject of his socks when a bellowing roar piereced the forest. The sound wave shook the very trees themselves and froze Riku in place, he looked around not knowing what exactly to do. He heard a loud snap followed by an explosion that shook the earth, living in Los Angeles and Tokyo he had indeed felt an earthquake or two. It didn't feel the same as this shock wave did, Riku immediately took off in a random direction. Pushing apart the vines and branches, breathing heavily and trying to avoid having some kind of panic attack. He didn't know what caused those sounds, but he didn't want to find out. He tripped on a root protruding from the wet forest floor and he stumbled into a clearing, the wet grass replaced by cold dark brown stone. He looked around, all the noises of the forest were completely muted. The humid air replaced by a cool breeze, it was refreshing. The sun no longer beating down onto the floor, the long branches from the surrounding trees providing a natural roof above the clearing. Very little sunlight actually piercing the leaves casting cloud like shadows on the stone floor. He stepped forward and a mellow tune hummed in the back of his head, it was relaxing.
    In the center of this clearing was a lone stone pedestal, Riku was drawn towards it. He didn't know why but he walked towards it and looked down, an indentation was on it as if some kind of circular object was missing. Riku raised his left hand slowly and dragged his fingertips across the cold granite pedestal, he jumped slightly when he felt a slight shockwave bolt through his hand. He turned when the stone floor began to pulsate a dull red, then suddenly the leaves that had fallen from the branches above were launched into the air as the floor erupted with a bright red light. It formed a pattern, one that Riku recognized. He looked at his left hand, it matched the pattern the man made appear. He shook his head, not knowing what any of this meant. He turned again to face the pedestal when it started to shake violently, Riku backed up a step. From the indentation on the top a red light burst forth in the shape of a small sphere and it darted towards Riku's chest. He closed his eyes, waiting for a sharp pain but it never came. The sphere had stopped just before his chest, Riku raised both hands and the light materialized into a small tan egg with pale green blotches. Riku was left speechless, the egg was very light, feeling almost hollow.
    The branches above that were blocking the sun snap violently and fall down with a thud, Riku shielded the egg with his right arm as he turned and ran down the clearing. He stopped suddenly and turned when a loud roar shook the forest again, the cool breeze of the clearing was replaced very quickly by the blistering heat of the fire that was being shot out of the snarling mouth of the towering red dinosaur. It's eyes were bright orange with very small black pupils, it didn't seem to notice Riku until it slammed its large tail down onto the pedestal completely crushing it. Riku jumped slightly and turned around to run into the forest, he slapped away the vines and branches frantically. He didn't know what to do in the situation, what do you do when there's a twenty story red dinosaur that breathes fire right behind you?! The back of his head lost all warmth as an elderly voice rang through his head.
    "They are chosen. Chosen from a group of young ones. Chosen based on their traits and characteristics. It is unknown who chose these children. When the time comes, they will be called upon to save those who selected them. Welcome to the Digital World, Digidestined."
    Riku slowly came to a stop, he grip on the egg tightening. His eyes started to blink rapidly, everything losing color and then all together completely went black. He fell to his knees and then he crashed onto the cold forest floor. He was still conscious, his body just completely motionless. He managed to turn to his other side, only to open his eyes and find himself on his bed. He shot upright, the blankets falling off him like a waterfall off a cliff. He dug into his pocket and brought out his Droid, 8:02. He looked up, to see his mother coming into the door.
    "Riku your dinner is ready!" His mother yelled and immediately looked at his desk, Riku looked over also to see his chair spinning in place and the screen completely blank. She smiled when she saw him laying on his bed and motioned for him to follow her as she went downstairs. He shook his head,
    "What the hell just happened?" He muttered under his breath as he kicked the blankets off his feet and stopped when he felt something solid. His eyes widened and his breathing became short and shallow, he pulled the blankets off to reveal a tan egg with pale green blothces. He picked it up and stared into it, it wasn't a dream...?
    Digimon Adventure: NEXT!
    Adventure One: Digital World Open.!
    Part B
    Sakura was in front of her house, she was searching her pockets for her keys until she finally found them. She went for the key whole with her hand trembling a bit…."Was it all true…?" the girl dazed off dropping her keys. The sound of the keys hitting the ground woke Sakura up and she got her keys and opened the door, shutting it quick behind her. She went to the kitchen and took a kettle and put it on the stove. "Wait. I should check if it works first." She said to herself immediately as she remembered the incident form this morning. The girl turned the stove on and let it a few minutes to see if it had any malfunctions until finally putting some water in the kettle and then putting it on the stove. She then looked outside the window to see if it was still snowing but nothing…it was like it didn't even snow…"Had I imagined it? All of it?"
    "Dear are you home??" a sound came from the living room.
    "Yes grandma. I'm in the kitchen." She said moving quickly from the window and getting a cup and a spoon for her tea.
    "How was the pep rally?" her grandmother said as she entered the kitchen in her robe.
    "Interesting if I could say so." She said with a smile thinking at the dance routine she had pulled out.
    "Sakura you look a bit pale? Are you ok?"
    "I'm ok …don't worry." But the truth was opposite…she was still shocked from what just happened but she was sure that if she told her she wouldn't believe her.
    "Is dad home?"
    "Nope he's still at work."
    "As always" the girl said only for her to hear.
    "He'll come late again. Dear I'm going to bed. Don't stay up too long. Good night."
    "I won't. Good night." Were her words as her grandma left.
    The girl looked at the clock…it was only 7:43…"Well I guess you go early to bed when your old." She giggled just as the air started blowing letting Sakura know that her tea was ready. She put some sugar in it and then took it and left for her room. While she was passing the living room, blowing on her tea, she noticed the TV opened.. "She must have opened it and forgot…"… Sakura put her tea on the table and searched for the remote which was on the couch. She picked it up and just as she wanted to close it she saw that it was on the news channel and the main subject was " The Cyber Terrorist". She turned the TV louder and listened:
    "The high authorities think that the main cause for the malfunctions all around Tokyo and some other places are due to a cyber terrorist which is playing with the main network. The police are trying to find this so called terrorist so they can put an end to the rampaging electrical appliances and to recover the phone and internet reception…….But there is still a flash of light in this chaos. Even if you can't use your phones for calling the authorities have managed to make the text service run again. That is all for now………"
    "Cyber terrorist?? I don't think that a person can do so much damage to the network and the others. And even if he could, there still remains the fact of the strange weather changes."
    And with those words she turned off the TV and picked up her tea and went straight up to her room.
    Sakura entered her room slowly, trying not to spill her tea as she pushed the door with her elbow. She put the tea on her desk and dived into her bed with her face on a pillow. It was nice to feel the pleasant warm bed on her skin and the soft pillow that covered her face. But her mind didn't care about those things ….her mind was wandering far to what happened today, question after question popping in her head. She turned over and was gazing at the ceiling…"What had just happened? Was it all just an illusion? But what about the glowing light? It felt so real….like it was a part of me? It's all to strange all of a sudden. Digidestined?…..Chosen child? …….chosen for what? My head hurts." The girl lifted her hands that were now on her face and went for her laptop, she wanted to clear her mind and try to forget all that happened today. She opened her laptop and saw in the corner of the screen that her internet connection was up again so she decided to surf the internet a and try to find anything about this so called cyber terrorist but her search ended with no results. A bit upset because of the lack of information she logged on to Facebook and after looking at some photos that a girl from her school put in an album she saw that Lily was online and started chatting.
    "Hi Lily!!! Glad to talk to you again. With this strange things happening we kind of got cut out every time on the phone. "
    "Hi. Yeah , it's kind of annoying but let's hope it will end. So was today?"
    "Well it started great and at the pep rally at school I kind of blew the school away with a cheerleading routine."
    "That's the Saukra I know. Told you, you were better that those girls. But how come did you get the chance to get on stage?
    "Well it was a kind of a game but I think it was all set up for me by…"
    "Ayame for sure. "
    "Yup."
    "I would have loved to see her face. And after?"
    "Well after that I left but on the road something stran "
    "Something what?"
    But Sakura couldn't answer as a white envelope appeared on her screen hat looked like an email. Sakura looked at the sender and saw that it was sent by "@@@@@@djm.ndes.co.jp/sys/switchboard". She decided to close it as she didn't know the address and thought it could be a virus but after closing it the email reappeared on the screen and opened itself and started downloading some files onto her laptop. Sakura quickly tried to stop the transfer but in a second the email had closed and ended its download. The girl was looked frightened at her laptop, not knowing what will happen with the virus. After a minute of staring at the screen nothing happened. She looked at her screen closing and after passing by her clock which was at 8:01 pm she saw that in among her files on the screen there was a new one with the title "Digital World". Sakura scanned it and her antivirus showed that it was clean so the girl decided to open the icon but just as she pushed enter fluorescent blue light burst engulfing the entire room and then fading laving no trace of someone being in the room except the Laptop which was still on and the tea which was still hot, steam rising slowly as it was cooling down.
    A strong light was blinding Sakura and made her wake up. She felt like she was run over by a truck and like she had fallen into an abyss that would never end. Sakura looked up using her hand to try and distinguish something from the strong sunlight that was coming down when she realized that she wasn't in her bed. She rapidly got on her feet and looked around, only to get shocked by the fact that she was surrounded by greenery all over. There were tropical trees all over, one more beautiful that the other. In the far distance you could see the large mountains that looked like they were trying to pierce the sky and if you tried to her closely you could hear the sound of the roaring water that was falling from the waterfalls on some mountains. The scenery was beautiful, it was like it was cut down from a fairytale and put into reality. Sakura was stunned by both the beauty of the place and by the fact that she wasn't home anymore. "Maybe I'm dreaming? Or I'm crazy and I'm imagining it all up?...... or maybe it's all real!!!!" her mind being overwhelmed by all of the things that were happening. She took a deep breath and started walking, thinking that if this was a dream why not explore the place and if it was real that she would be saved faster if she moved. The trees were identical in any way you looked so it was just a matter of time until Sakura felt like she was completely lost. The girl sat down on a patch of grass but as she sat down a loud roar enveloped the entire area followed by a crash not far from where Sakura was. The girl panicked and started running in the opposite way from the roar, trying to get as far as possible from that place. When her feet could take another step she found herself in a clearing kneeing on the ground and gasping for air with every breath. A war feeling surged through the girl's body reenergizing her. Sakura looked up and saw that the sky was covered by the canopy large trees like they knew that she needed some shade. Small ray of sun showered down into the clearing making the ground look like a green sky that was covered by white yellowy clouds. A mellow tune started to please Sakura's ears as a light breeze blew her hair making Sakura notice the refreshing state of the place. The place was not like the rest of the jungle, it felt warm and safe, cold and refreshing like it was made for Sakura and Sakura only. She lowered her head and saw a lone pedestal standing a few feet away from her. The girl approached it like it was calling her name, she was in a trance and felt the urge to touch it but as she put her fingers on it a strong light erupted forming on the ground a burning hearth that had a rose at the bottom of it with some leafs….it was the same with the symbol that Sakura witnessed forming on her hand. A small sphere of brilliant light emerged from the pedestal and dived at Sakura's chest energy bursting in every direction into a blinding light as the sphere made contact with Sakura and then faded away leaving Sakura staring at an egg that had formed in her hands. The egg was colored in lilac purple with a fallen small yellow crescent moon at the middle of it. Sakura was more than shocked, there wasn't a word that could express the combination of feeling that were surging in her. But she didn't have time to process what had just happened as the trees around her suddenly snapped violently. Sakura turned her head only to see that even the small patches of light started to fade. She lifted her head and saw a giant red skinned dinosaur above her that was aggressively blowing flames into the air and then smashing its tail on the ground. In the same time the egg that Sakura was holding started to glow and a well known voice made its way to Sakura's ears. It was the voice of the old man that echoed in her head.
    "They are chosen. Chosen from a group of young ones. Chosen based on their traits and characteristics. It is unknown who chose these children. When the time comes, they will be called upon to save those who selected them. Welcome to the Digital World, Digidestined."
    As the old man's words faded and Sakura wanted to run, being scared of how the giant dinosaur could react, her whole body turned numb and lost her vision as she fell down on the ground being enveloped by the cold lush grass. The scent of the fresh grass faded away as Sakura woke up and regained her vision. With one hand at her chest she looked around and realized she was in her bed, she looked at the time and saw that it was 8:02 pm. "So it was a dream indeed!!!! But it felt so real ?!?! she thought as she tried to make sense of what had happened. As she moved one of her feet she felt something at the edge of her bed. Sakura's eyes opened wide as she saw the purple egg at her feet. She picked it up and without knowing she spoke out loud.
    "It was all real!!!"
    Episode 1, Part B
    First Year, Matsutane Kiyoko
    Kiyoko was surprised to find her father sitting in front of the television reading his daily newspaper when she arrived home; he often went for drinks with work colleagues on Wednesday evenings.
    "I'm home!" she had called from the landing, removing her shoes and placing her bag on the floor. Her legs ached from sprinting all the way back, she had mostly recovered her breath in the elevator - and taken some time to catch it outside the front door, not wanting her mother to be concerned about her. The way the man had appeared and disappeared before the girl was extremely perplexing, let alone his knowledge of her name. Kiyoko couldn't think of an excuse as to why she would dream up something like that. She wasn't tired, she had eaten well and definitely hadn't abused any substances...
    "Welcome home," the male's voice replied when she had been expecting her mother. Entering the shared kitchen and living room (their apartment was mostly open plan), she was greeted with the smell and sound of miso soup bubbling away on the stove.
    "Papa?"
    "Hmph, the same reaction as your mother's," he sighed, folding the paper up and placing it on the table in front of him. "I might as well have stayed out." Kiyoko grinned at this, knowing that he was toying with them.
    "How come you're home early?"
    "Heard we were having miso for dinner."
    "Ne, stop it," Kiyoko chuckled and plopped down on the sofa beside him. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders as she leaned against him, her mother watching on from afar. They had always been close - Kiyoko got on well with both her parents - but there was a certain bond that she shared with her father that was just that little bit more special.
    "Honey, would you mind turning the TV up a little?"
    "One second."
    The young girl pulled a face as the arm moved away to reach the remote; she sat up and stared at the screen, not that she was all that interested in the news.
    "Seems like it's not just our block," Mrs. Matsutane pointed her ladle towards the television, and then realised she was dripping soup everywhere. Her interest piqued, Kiyoko listened to the anchorwoman discussing the severity of the phone lines being down. As expected, it was pretty boring for the fifteen year old, who texted and instant messaged more than she did call - she didn't even know her friends' home phone numbers.
    "Mama, how long will dinner be?"
    "Not long; you've got enough time to get your lunchbox out of your bag so I can wash it ready for tomorrow."
    The mention of 'tomorrow' resulted in a groan from the teen; she'd completely forgotten about the fact that they were resuming lessons as normal. Which meant Thursday's usual pop quiz - in her worst subject (conversational English) at that.
    "... I have to study. Can I eat in my room?" she called from the hall, collecting her empty bento box and delivering it to her mother. "I won't spill any."
    "Fine, so long as you stick with studying and don't let yourself get distracted. It's English tomorrow, right?"
    Kiyoko's mother smiled at the grimace which graced her unpainted lips, and gently pushed her towards her room.
    "I know more than you realise. You can text Jirou-kun when you're done!"
    I swear mothers have mind-reading powers, Kiyoko scowled, not hesitating to lock her door behind her and bury her head in the pillows. She remained there for a while, trying to figure out when and how her mother found out about her crush; by the time she remembered that she had studying to do, Kiyoko found herself feeling somewhat wearied. Maybe she had done more that day than she had initially realised... But still, failing English was not in her best interests, therefore she hauled herself away from the bed and into the chair opposite.
    A few minutes passed, and she was already bored of reading through the 'Going Out To Eat' chapter of her textbook. Her note pad was blank, sans the absent-minded doodles in the margin. Dammit, she'd drawn hearts!
    Furiously, Kiyoko scribbled the shapes out and released a heavy sigh. Her brown eyes briefly fluttered shut and then focused upon her computer upon opening; she always left it on standby after checking her mails in the morning. Temptation was too much for her and Kiyoko's hand grabbed for the mouse - she didn't usually procrastinate like this, but today had been a strange day...
    "so how does it feel 2 b a backstabber?"
    "backstabber?" She hurriedly typed back to Yukimura-san's chat window, feeling a ball of dread forming in her stomach.
    "lol jk. mayumi was piiiiiiissed. u should probably avoid her 2morrow. \(@___@)/"
    "i'm sorry. i was gonna ask u guys 2 but u were busy. didn't wanna interrupt ur fun i guess =/"
    She began to nervously strum her fingernails upon the surface of the table as she waited for a reply, watching the 'himesama2009' appear and disappear as Yukimura-san typed, deleted a little and then continued typing. Her attention wavered for a moment, but no sooner had she heard the notification sound, Kiyoko glanced back at the screen. What appeared was not something she was expecting. At first it looked like a regular e-mail - she was about to close the window when the sender's name intrigued her: @@@@@@djm.ndes.co.jp/sys/switchboard.
    "Must be spam," she sighed, going to click and drag it to the relevant folder. No sooner did she move the cursor, the screen was filled with the contents: something or other from an internet software company she was vaguely familiar with, or thought she was. Wait, there was an attachment?!
    "No, no, no!" Panicking, she shook the mouse as the download client appeared and the attachment filed itself into her documents. "Dad'll kill me!"
    Kiyoko was never able to find out what Yukimura-san's reply was, for once the box disappeared so did everything else - even her wallpaper and desktop icons were absent save for one that she hadn't seen before. This wasn't bad, it was terrible. Worse than that - she couldn't think of a word to describe how bad it was, but--
    "D-Digital World?" A rather flustered Kiyoko breathed to herself, the screen beginning to glow as she uttered the final syllable. Had anyone been looking up at her apartment at that exact second, they would have been perplexed to see a vibrant azure light seemingly bursting out of the window. There was a knock at the door but no answer. Kiyoko's chair was halfway across the room, her desk abandoned.
    During her time as a full-time housewife, Kiyoko's mother went through a phase where she listened to New Age music. Kiyoko would come home from middle school to hear whale calls and the sound of dolphins clicking, and for a brief moment she thought she was back in the era of past knee-length skirts and high school entrance exams. Upon opening her eyes and becoming fully aware of her surroundings (not to mention the pulsing sensation in her skull), she realised that the sounds of waterfalls and rustling trees were real. Unless she was dreaming, but you didn't feel pain when you were dreaming, did you?
    Rubbing her eyes, Kiyoko tried to remember how she ended up in this place. There was the e-mail, the strange download and then... Her features creased a little as she strained for the memory, but all that came to mind was the sensation of falling far, far down... Wherever she was, it would do her no good to sit there. Dammit, had she missed the miso soup?
    Her quest to solve the mystery of this place (which she still wasn't sure of being a dream or not) was fruitless, to save the least. No matter how far her legs carried her or how she used the sun to navigate, all she could see was the same series of trees and the waterfall with the jagged rocks. Was she walking in circles? (By now she had decided that this was a dream, that she would go with it.)
    Kiyoko paused for a moment, taking a chance to check the sky again. She almost leapt out of her skin as the most horrifying roar she had ever heard reverberated throughout the area along with a crash which seemed to cause the ground to rumble with it; a combination of her natural instinct and adrenaline sent her dashing back the way she had been walking. The young girl almost tripped over her own feet in her panic, but was able to recover by holding on to a nearby tree. She coughed, spluttered, and looked behind her. Nothing was following her.
    As she glanced ahead (expecting to see the waterfall again), Kiyoko was pleasantly surprised, if not a little confused, to see a change of scenery. The trees were different, sparse... This was a clearing of some sort?
    She immediately began to investigate, finding all her fears and anxieties about this strange dream-like place being alleviated by the dapples of sunlight passing through the canopies above, by the way everything was seemingly more tranquil here and by the gentle, lullaby-esque sound that played in the back of her mind, as if there was a music box stored in her head. Kiyoko found herself drawn to a stone pedestal of some sort in the middle of the 'clearing' - at first she believed it to be another rock, but the music seemed to inform her that it was something more than that. Her curiosity led Kiyoko to approach it, albeit gingerly, and then to reach out and touch it.
    She emitted a sharp squeak of surprise as the same purple light from earlier erupted beneath her feet, and recognised the shape it formed within the grass even if she had no idea as to its true significance. Then, a very bright orb of light formed upon the pedestal itself - Kiyoko didn't notice it until it threw itself in her direction.
    "Aaaaaah!" she screamed, blinded by fluorescent purple light. It died down only seconds later; she blinked rapidly and regained her vision before becoming aware of something heavy in her hands. An egg? The base colour was cream, dappled with little red lines not unlike sprinkles.
    There was no time for it to register beyond that. Splintering sounds, all around her, as living wood was effortlessly broken into two; Kiyoko was plunged into darkness, not a welcome contrast in all honesty. A second scream of hers rang out, loud and clear - who wouldn't scream if a giant dinosaur was towering over them, breathing fire and whipping its tail about?!
    What, more light? Kiyoko was extremely confused - did her dream want her to be blinded and for her freaking underwear to be soiled? It was all getting too much for her. Far, far too much.
    "They are chosen. Chosen from a group of young ones. Chosen based on their traits and characteristics. It is unknown who chose these children. When the time comes, they will be called upon to save those who selected them. Welcome to the Digital World, Digidestined."
    ... That voice. She knew that voice... As Kiyoko found herself subjected to more darkness and the egg seemed completely weightless in her arms (little did she realise that she was losing sense of feeling), her legs gave out. The grass was not the best landing spot - it was slightly wet and tickled her bare limbs - but it was a blissful relief when her vision returned to her.
    "Kiyoko, answer me!" Her mother's voice urged from the other side of her bedroom door. She was back in her room, on her bed... Had she never gotten up to study at all? "Your miso's getting cold and I haven't served Papa's yet!"
    "C-coming..."
    Extremely confused, the girl sat up and rubbed her eyes for a second time. Kiyoko meant to look over at her computer, but instead she noticed an ovoid object at the end of her bed - cream, adorned in red lines.
    She didn't know what was going on, only that if she didn't answer her door, there would be more stomping and fire-breathing on behalf of her mother.
