OOC: Arrgh, the first time I tried to post this, the power went out in my house, and I was almost done with that post... now I have to try to remember what I typed...

Kelsey put the new DigiEgg in her backpack until she knew it was about to hatch. Whether it would become a Digimon or have signs of a crest, she had no clue... all she had was an instinct to keep it, an instance of fate as it was. StarPiximon didn't seem to mind this decision either--in fact she followed Kelsey further down the river.
"We are getting close to Celia's house," Kelsey pointed out. "If Devimon was still here, we might be planning how we were going to win the battle, but now I don't really know what to do..."
"I guess we'll see what happens when we get there," StarPiximon answered. She was walking among the foliage in the riverbank, well hidden amongst the flowers and such.
Celia was sitting on a bench outside her house, casually looking out at the river which was quite close by. Therefore, she noticed Kelsey immediately as she walked by.
"Why there you are, Kelsey," the old woman called as she got up and walked over to where Kelsey was.
"It really is a shame that we can't have that battle," Kelsey mentioned.
"Yes, I know how much you were looking forward to it," Celia sneered. "But, at least you still have a Digimon with you, that pesky Clovermon. That's rather... lucky on your part."
"Nefertimon disappeared too, only yesterday," Kelsey said in a solemn tone.
"Yes, Nefertimon was your best, wasn't she?" Celia said with a smirk on her face. "Anyways, how are you feeling these days?"
"Terrible as usual," Kelsey replied. Although she didn't sound like it, she was being honest.
"As I would expect from the little trick I played on you so long ago," Celia commented. "You suffered the loss of your precious Pokemon, you are denied your fair share of happiness, and you have blood on your chest."
"That," Kelsey muttered, feeling slightly embarrassed. She decided to clean what Celia mentioned up with her finger, which she quickly sucked on before facing Celia again. "Oh, I'm sorry, I must be taking on your dark side."
"Like master like inferior, eh?" Celia said with a slight giggle. "Oh, I was laughing hard in that last battle long ago."
I remember that battle, Kelsey thought. Celia's right, I was a big chicken then. Gatomon got creamed by Devimon because she probably sensed my fear of Celia.
"Ah, but I have reason to believe that this darkness is my greatest weapon against you," Kelsey said, taking on a sinister tone. "It has eliminated any fears that I may have had in the past, and it made me smile in the face of pain. Had we our battle, my response would have been quite different from our last encounter."
"Why, that certainly does make me proud of you," Celia laughed--Kelsey thought she detected a faint glimmer of honesty in what she said. "Still, you have miles to go before you are truly free... and you might want to start with proving what you just said."
"We shall see," Kelsey hissed, looking back at Celia darkly as she walked away, StarPiximon following her while still unseen.
"Wow, maybe Celia is right," StarPiximon commented after they were a good distance away from Celia. "That dark side of yours startled me a bit... startled, not scared."
"I am aware of the difference," Kelsey replied.
"...You are walking kind of dizzily," StarPiximon noticed. "Is everything all right?"
"I suppose you are starving as well?" Kelsey asked. "I guess I'm just used to it, since for me me it's far from unnatural..."
"Yes," StarPiximon fretted, "that's why I'm walking rather than flying--to conserve my energy a bit."
"Good idea," Kelsey commented.
"Hey Kelsey, look!" StarPiximon shouted. "Your backpack's glowing!"
"It what?" Kelsey took off her little backpack, and she noticed a purple glow coming from inside it. Opening the backpack, Kelsey saw that the glow came from the egg, which had cracked quite a bit.
Seconds after Kelsey took out the egg, it burst open. But what was inside it was not a Digimon nor a crest, but what looked like a black hole. Kelsey tried to back away at the sight of this, but it had rendered her unable to move, and StarPiximon as well. Within a few moments, the two of them were sucked into the hole, and the darkness swirled around them...
It turned out that the black hole acted more like a portal, as Kelsey and StarPiximon found themselves in a place they didn't recognize: the inside of some sort of park.
"Where are we?" Kelsey asked.
"Hey look, a Digimon!" StarPiximon announced. Sure enough, there was a Viximon right in front of them. But this Viximon obviously belonged to someone, as she had a collar around her neck with a bell attached. Viximon was startled by the other Digimon and tried to run away, but fortunately, StarPiximon wielded telekinetic powers, which she used to stop the little fox from doing so.
"Sorry, we got to find your owner," StarPiximon muttered. "Hey Kelsey, did you hear that?"
There were voices coming around the corner, and the occasional revving of an engine. Kelsey picked up StarPiximon and ran towards the source of the sound, Viximon floating along next to them.
"More Digimon!" Kelsey blurted as she saw the source: a group of people and Digimon.
"Who are you?" asked a girl in the group in some sort of accent.
"I am..." Kelsey started to say.
"Flamefox?!" a boy standing next to the carlike Digimon exclaimed, a smile of surprise forming on his face.
