Digimon Savers

I prolly will watch it when it comes to the states (even IF I have to wait till summer of next year...). It's nice to see Digimon making a comeback, ever since the debaccle known as Digimon Frontier...

Ahh, Frontier... And the thing is, the music wasn't too bad. Just the concept was horrible. Fortunately, this one seems to go back to having the Digimon partners and THEM Digivolving. I'll have to wait to see how this turns out though.

Digiport also has the first Digivolution song 'Believer' up, but it has the voices during it. If you can put up with it, it's a pretty good clip. Also they have Japanese trailers there too. It's pretty cool. One of them shows Agumon Digivolving.

Youtube also has a few trailers up.

kill off the ponytail and we have a better design for Daimon Masaru >>

Watched the sub earlier tonight.

I adore Yoshino, she looks like she'll be great fun.

...Masaru is the most annoying character ever.

I just saw the sub of the episode. Masaru is irritating. Of course, they haven't really gotten into much, but I'm wondering (actually, everyone at DP is) if the old man that gave him his iC might be his dad or something.

Pretty sure I heard him call him his grandfather. Masaru is annoying right now, but he'll probably mature over the course of the series.

I think Masaru called him 'Gramps' because he was an old man. I don't think he actually meant it literally. But, yeah. Digi-Destined/Tamers/Whatevers tend to gain maturity over the course of the adventure. But something tells me this series might be different from what we've seen in other ones... I just have a gut feeling...

I DO like that the sub actually explains the Japanese terminology, rather than altering it. Many subs don't bother with this.

I don't mind them altering it. Really, if I want to hear Masaru be called "aniki" I'll watch the raw. But when I watch a sub, I expect words and honoifics to be translated and not done half way. It sounds more affectionate to hear Agumon called him "brother" and not "aniki" just because that's what people like.

But "aniki" doesn't only mean brother, as explained in the note.

You'd end up with mistranslated stuff then, and would end up losing the meaning.

Ah, haven't seen the sub, only heard that's how it was subbed, so I didn't know of that note.

I'm surprised that the other groups who are apparently subbing Savers haven't released ep 1 yet... the raw of ep 2 is out, after all.

Tohma's still <3, and Masaru's still fugly.

It sometimes takes groups until like episode 5 to get the first out.

And from what I've heard, it's down to just WtW and WPP.

Really? It's a pity... Savers would have been the most subbed show this season if the other groups had kept it. Personally, I like having a larger choice... I have to admit I'm not a -huge- fan of either of the Digimon subbing groups.

It would have more if it hadn't been licensed. :p

...but since it's licensed, maybe Shinsen will take it up x3

It hasn't been licensed, that blurb from ANN was just a time table that Bandai thinks will be good for the series, it's rights are still up in the air.

But it's being considered licensed because of that. Which scares off plenty of groups~

I started watching it and I like the concept! But one thing I am pissed about...NO GOGGLES!!! WTF why doesn't Maseru have an goggles. It is like a freaking Digimon tradition. Anyway, is it just me or do these kids look alot older than the rest of the seasons? Anyway, the season is good so far.

That's because they are older 14-18 I believe. And I don't mind the googles, basically BanDai is trying to reinvent Digimon. New card game, new anime, new manga.
