4th Gen Dissidia-like Pokemon

What..? That... doesn't make much sense.
Well, I got his point there!
I really did like FF: Dissidia and I have a copy for my psp!!!
But anyway, it might be impossible for a pokemon game like that to be for a hand-held(but it'll be cool for a wii). But, if ever Nintendo will make a dissidia pokemon game, Sony(and Square Enix) will really complain about it and say:"What? They are copying us!!"
But somthing LIKE Dissidia can be applied to it and be an outstanding game but like I said, it'll be weird for a pokemon game to be like that cuz it'll be very weird to see Pikachu and Rattata flying and hopping in mid-air..!

Yes, perhaps several things could be added to the normal gaming series... to make it even more dinamic... I'm not saying that Nintendo should copy the battle system exactly... But that they could produce something interesting for a new game

Ahhh yes spin-offs, the Crystal FF series a huge spin-off and actually has turned newcomers to FF to dislike the series. Dissidia is the only FF game that is like that and frankly it gets old quick and how do you expect them to input 493 Pokemon and 470 different attacks into one Tenkaichi fighting like game on a Nintendo gaming console around this time?

Well man, that is ur opinion... I mean, after the first crystal, FF developed more and more games like that... If it wasn't working, wouldn't FF stop in that precise moment? And for the other thing, we are considering the idea of having a game like that... I know that it would be difficult to program a game like that... But that Nintendo guys get paid thousands of dollars for developing a game... Let them work on something interesting..

What..? That... doesn't make much sense.

Sorry, I meant Nintendo could develop something SIMILAR to dissidia, not precisely the same battle system. The reason I choose dissidia is because it features a really interesting battle system and it's like the newest thing in stores now... Of course, Nintendo could develop somthing like smash, or chrono trigger, or budokai tenkaichi, etc... Not necessarily dissidia... I hope I made my point clear...

I agree with that...!
Even though how hard the game may be develop, with money: they can do anything....!
May I was wrong that they can't make a dissidia-like pokemon game for a hand-held,,but hey, everybody can do the impossible with alot of money!!!

Anyway, Evoslingerr has a point you know...
The Pokemon's battle system is getting out of touch,it's getting quite boring for long-time Pokemon players like me...Nintendo should make something like a real battle system how Evoslingerr stated earlier...

I't could be pretty amazing if Nintendo developed a cool battle system

Pokemon is meant to be a turned-based RPG that gives you time to think about your moves and choices during battle rather than expecting you to be able to win and keep up with the AI using a sword/spear/magic/etc.

There is a lot more strategy in Pokemon than you know. Oh sure, fire beats grass, who couldn't of guessed that, but what if said grass pokemon poisoned and defeated said fire pokemon. It's a lot more than simple type > type, I'll tell you that much.

Pokemon has been going for 11 years now, if it had stopped being intresting why is it continuing to be sold?
In My Most Humble Opinion, if they ever make a game like dissida or whatever, i wont buy it.

Hey Seth!! Long time no see!!!

Anyway, Seth is right...!
There are more strategies then we all know and that's what makes pokemon a great RPG and I don't think Nintendo will ever change that..!

Is not the same, because Smash Bros isn't a game developed entirely for pkmn... And about the part of the mild strategy... I've been playing pokemon games since the red version came to light. The only strategy is knowing that fire will burn grass types and such... I just think that after... let me see... only about the original gaming series... there's been like 15 different versions... each of them features the same game mode... If nintendo thinks thats going to work for another 15 years I don't think pokemon games will live long...

Other games like the ones of the dungeons are cool... because they're different... Don't tell me u wouldn't like to play a game similar to the anime... Where you could evade attacks more easily and not limit your gameplay to the 4 allowed techniques... but combine them as in the anime and perform creative attacks... Something like that could be interesting...

I just think... If Final Fantasy evolved to present a better product to a more exigent market, then why shouldn't pokemon try the same thing?
LOL @ your strategy comment. Smogonites would rip you to shreds.

Anyways, I like turn based strategy and am at least happy that Pokemon stays true to that.

Pokemon has become a great RPG ever since Green Version came alive in Japan because of its creative way of making players having and making their own strageties as like what Seth said earlier...

If they ever make a game like that, I mind as well buy it for my Pokemon Collection! XD

What about a Diglett fighting Pidgey? The chances of it winning have just dropped a lot.

Not quite, just as the original game, earth techniques wont have an effect in flying pokemon... So... Diglett would have to use ancient powers and rock blasts to take out a flying pokemon....

Yes, but it is also very limited... and luck plays an important part... It doesnt matter if you have a level 30 pikachu fighting a level 50 gyarados... If Pikachu's thunder hits the gyarados... it will finish the battle immediately... Also... Alakazam and Machamp... The last one may have the strongest attack in all the gaming series... But Alakazam has the best SP. ATTACK and an amazing Speed... With a single Phychic technique, Machamp will faint. At the end, everything has to do with elemental weaknesses, and who has in their team more legendary pokemon... and the ability to strike an attack with high power but low accuracy... (just like... thunder, fire blast, blizzard, etc... etc... etc...)

That'll be awful...!

I was thinking lately, each time a new version comes, the game gets better and better, that's what I've said earlier right?
But what if, what IF they make a new battle system...?
It'll be chaos for the franchise!!!
You know why?
What if a Diglett and a Pidgey fight in the field(like what Wings Won't Cry said earier)?Diglett won't even have a chance in winning against a Flying Type like Pidgey even how strong Diglett is...!

Not quite, just as the original game, earth techniques wont have an effect in flying pokemon... So... Diglett would have to use ancient powers and rock blasts to take out a flying pokemon....

Even so, Pidgey is not stupid enough to get hit by those attacks!. He'll just be away from diglett and use Gust attacks, unless diglett uses dig attack and the fight will never end..!XD

I don't know man, perhaps a targeting tool to make attacks easier... and for real... several of the users that have been posting in this thread have mention the strategy present in pkmn games as one of the most important part of the series... Why would somebody use a diglett to fight a pidgey?... that doesn't seem strategical to me...

A trainer who uses his Diglett to fight a Pidgey is pretty stupid...!
And yeah, strageties are one of the most important in the game...!

Even if there was a pokemon fighting game, if they named it dissidia somone will be getting sued. Plus its an rpg its supossed to be the way it is, if you dont like pokemon and you hate the doing the same thing over and over, THEN PLAY A DIFFERENT GAME. Its as simple as that :) You could be doing something more important withyour time right now but your sitting at the computer, debating and argueing over the internet.
