was it transformed? if so, it was changed into fire type so flamethrower would have done less anyway

Well if you were to EV train a Ditto you would want it max out HP and Speed. Ditto doesn't copy HP so you'd want it as high as possible. You want high speed so you can copy first before taking a hit.
 
true, I figured those would be the choices, I was just using my earlier spread as an example.

I'll do some testing to see dittos true capabilities
 
Ok double battle VS Young Couple at bottom of Solcean Town
Ditto Lv 49 + Ninjask Lv 51
VS.
Machop Lv 19 + Meditite Lv 19
==========================================================
Meditite uses detect
Ninjask uses fury cutter on Meditite (no damage)
Ditto transforms into ninjask
Machop uses karate chop on ditto (1 HP)
---------
Speed boost activates on BOTH Ditto and ninjask (Ok so ditto DOES copy abilities)
Ditto goes before Ninjask and uses Fury Cutter to faint meditite
Machop uses seismic toss on ninjask
---------
Speed boost activates on BOTH Ditto and ninjask
Ninjask goes first now (could this be because they have the same speed???)
Fury Cutter faints machop

alright so from that battle we know that ditto DOES copy abilities, and maybe stats. Because for ninjask and ditto to rotate going first may mean they have the same speed stat



DITTOs Speed before transforming: 61
NINJASKs Speed: 182
 
definately, if we aren't mis-interpreting this somehow ditto could become MUCH more used
 
With Quick Powder at max speed Ditto gets an impressive 428. That outruns tons of Pokemon.
 
yeah he wouldn't be much good if all he had was one hp, I think he needs the q powder. The fact that Metal Powder is the rarer of the two, but is seemingly worse..

It sure does, and I have one of each nature at least, who thought everyone's favorite breeding machine could be everyone's favorite suprise in competitive battling
 
Okay then, you say that 1 hp does no good? Well then let's say you try to transform into garchomp, what do you think the person is going to do? Let's just say it's either 1 hp or none hp.
 
I definately know what you mean, but if he doesn't have quick powder he has no chance of being fast enough to tranform
 
What I am saying is if he doesn't have focus sash, he won't get a chance to transform.

But then at 428 Speed with Quick Powder he will get to transform unless it is against a Ninjask or something. Hopefully Ditto also resists the incoming attack.
 
He won't survive a dragon claw from a garchomp if that's what it's transforming into. That's all I'm saying.
 
if you use quick power then you could transform first, copy that Garchomp's defenses and survive. Punishment worked its speed out to be 428 then. That out runs a normal Gachomp.

Edit: Wow that was a lot of posts in a short amount of time.
