i know they are here at route 218 but i have been here for an hour and havent seen 1. i have the national pokedex but still nuthin. wat am i doin rong? and wat ssort of movement do they make on the radar? thanx

I could have sworn the find rates are a LOT lower. Looking for a Ditto is SUCH a pain at first.

Just keep at it, and stick to the brighter patches. I seem to get Dittos only from those patches.

They're normal quite easy to find just outside Canclave city, just keep trying and eventually you will get one.

uhmm...i hope yer using the pokeradar >.> lol they can be a bit hard to catch i think it took me about five minutes to find mine

maybe i'm looking at this the wrong way, but Ditto is simple to find in fire red and leaf green and can be pal parked over. and i'm sure you can easilly find someone to trade you a ditto.

I'm pretty sure you have to go into the grasses that when they move they have some yellow in them.

You just need to know how to use the Radar correctly (I don't, so I imported my Ditto), there's a guide in the FAQ, if you need to know.

Now a shiny Ditto would be a problem.

Yeah, just keep looking. It would prolly be easier if you were to transfer it over, if you have a GBA game. Ditto in Emerald is easy to find.

Oddly I have both >.> Porygon was a result of chaining, (now a Porygon Z fully EV trained Modest.) Chansey was also the result of chaining, but it wasn't in a shiny patch so it was a normal Shiny encounter.

Wrong, it can breed with almost every pokemon, and can pass down natures too.

Yes, i got my ditto by walking into a brither patch. I reset radar few times, then chained it =] i got 8 dittos now ;] I only use one in day care though. Its
been in there so long its level 85 =]

RETARD ALERT. As Angel Shaymin said, it can breed with any Pokemon in the game, which is especially useful for Genderless or Male/Female-only Pokemon, in addition to passing down Natures or moves. But hey, you don't seem like someone who'd know that, so I can forgive you. ;)

Speaking of Ditto, I have a noob question about it...
Suppose that I got a male Bayleef and I want a Chikorita... Can I breed it with a Ditto that will assume the role of the female that I don't have ?

Actually, that's the main purpose of Ditto. If you haven't noticed there are some Pokémon that can be only male or female so they need Ditto to have babies.
