5th Gen do I require national pokedex to trade older gen's pokemon?

    I'm currently on gym 3(black) right now would like to get my self an elekid via trading, any one know if its possible to trade in those pokemon from older gen with out beating the game? thx for looking
     
    Yes you can trade for them without beating the game, they just won't register on your pokedex until you get the national dex, though. Ask in Simple Questions next time!
