4th Gen Do people still...

Nobody actually uses Luvdisc, so it's more like 14,183,735,261,958,144.
Applying Species Clause, permitting UEs and Ubers, (not clausing Luvdisc xP), counting different leads as unique, but otherwise counting different team arrangements the same, I'm only getting 116,047,831,432,344. :cheeky:

Anyway, play the game the way you like to. I find that hunting for shinies, breeding for IVs (to a practical limit), EVing, and building movesets is what makes the game fun. If you don't, you don't have to, but don't complain that they "ruin the game." They might turn the game into something you don't like, but you don't have to play your game that way.

If you don't like EVing but want to try your hand at competitive battling in an equal-opportunity environment where everyone has max stats, you could give Shoddy a try.

I never knew about Pokerus, IV and EV stuff until i started to look around the net, even then it's never interested me.

I don't really play my Diamond and Pearl much anymore. I'll take them out to battle over wifi, but most of what I do is on Shoddy. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy the games and love nearly everything about them, but when my main interest lies on the field of competitive battling, and I don't have wifi atm, I just don't find any reason to play on them other than training the occasional pokemon for a new team.

However, I still play my Silver and Emerald versions for fun, since I can't battle anyone on them.
