Question: Do people who go inactive ever get notified by e-mail or anything?

(Wasn't sure to make this a question or suggestion)

I was wondering if any users who obviously haven't logged in here for a while are notified via e-mail or something, possibly as a notice that they registered and have an account in an attempt to keep their time registering from being a waste.

Now, I know that there are a lot of newbies who tend to sign up, make a couple posts and then likely never appear again, so I doubt this is something that'd be necessary all the time. But I feel like maybe supporters - particularly ones who are newer - likely warrant e-mail notification if they drift off. I wondered if this may ever be a thing. I can understand that people who joined many years ago may grow out of the site and they wouldn't be necessary to contact, but those who are newer might be a different story.

So is this a thing or has anything like it been considered? Thanks!

I believe there's an email sent out on each member's birthday, or at least it was that way. Not that that answers your question.

I do think it's not a great idea to remind new people- specifically supporters- that we're here. I can't tell you how many forums I've been excited about joining, then forgot to revisit them by the next day.

Surely there's a plugin that lets you send mass emails to members, but let's you filter through who they're sent to -w-

Well i'll agree that i'm kind of like that on some forums, that I join them only to not really do anything on them not long after. But given that there's the Active Members count (the people who have been on in any way in the last 60 days), that tells us how many people have been actively participating in certain aspects of the forum. If they've been gone for a while, and there are the chances that they may have forgotten that the forum existed, then that's part of the thing here, especially if they already spent money for it.

That's understandable, admittedly, but there's a difference between supporters who have been on the forum for years and reached veteran status, and people who may have paid supporter status (like to Crystal tier) within a quick time after their first joining, and then disappear not three weeks later. I mean, what's the point of donating if you're going to vanish and never be seen from again within the same month?

Hope that makes a bit of comparable sense. Maybe not.
