Do you chose your party Pokémon based on design rather than strength

How many of you people choose your Pokémon for your party based on the design of the Pokémon rather than how strong they are?

My party in all Pokémon games are Pokémon that I like the design for.

anybody else like this?

I actually choose based on elements. Like for example, I go with fire, water, electric and flying... then I have two others that I choose in different types I'm not using. I like it this way because if I need to fight a pokemon that's weak against any of the types I'm using, I have a better chance of winning.
