I feel like it's a curse for a lot of developers. They have a passion to create their dream game, but they can't enjoy the result because they know exactly what to expect.

That makes it more fun because if I know the team of a trainer I'm about to encounter, I can prepare mine to be as trolly as I want (ie I know they only have electric types, so I can use Gligar and screw with it.)

I've playtested my hack enough to not enjoy a full playthrough of it. I did however watch every person that made a video about my hack and enjoyed it a lot.

In my opinion, I find it fun to test battle Gym leaders as an example, and as well, when play testing, you don't know what to expect sometimes, a glitch, or a shiny can turn the whole experience around, either freaking out, or spending hours fixing the game in response to the glitch. As well, if you did something really difficult in scripting or ASM, and tested it, and to your joy it works, that's what makes playtesting fun. :D
