Do you know a good map editor for european roms ?

    Hey guys,

    I am new to the world of pokemon rom hacking, and I am planning to do a simple rom on pokemon FR hack to learn the basics of rom hacking.
    I downloaded the essentials tools for this ( XSE, FSF, ... ) and I noticed that when I tried to load the french rom of pokemon FR it didn't work at all. It seems to only work with US roms.
    So if you guys could suggest to me a good map editor that is compatible with european roms it would be great :smile:

    I recommend AdvanceMap for editing maps. I know for a fact that it works with French ROMs, because there's an entire section in the ini for French ROMs.
    Also, what program were you using when you say "the french rom of pokemon FR didn't work at all"?

    I was using Map editor of happiness, when I loaded the french rom it didn't detect it at all. I'll follow your advice and use AdvanceMap, thx :)

    But if I were you I'd still use an English ROM, the tools are way more developped and complete.
