I know Lugia is a cool legendary (by its looks).
But I'm not sure if it's great for me.

In my SS, these are what I've got now (I'm just starting to go to Kanto):
    Typhlosion Lv 41
    Scyther Lv 42
    Ampharos Lv 42
    Dragonair Lv 39
    Pupitar Lv 41
    Lapras Lv 37

I've just got Lugia. Should I add it to my team? Who should I replace if I do so?

Your team is well balanced, as far as my preference is concerned. You need not a legendary Pokemon though to wallop everyone on your path.

yea you have a good team for in game play....but if your thinkin about it, it can replace lapras to take on the water pokemon role in your team

I think that you should add Lugia to your team, because it is a good legendary, but its uber, and most people dont like uber in battles. If you do decide to put in Lugia, then take out Lapras, because theyre both water, and two water types in a team are seldom worth it. Not taking Lugia would be good since you would have a pokemon to counter pokemon like swampert, with its water type moves, and it has a great moveset, with ice beam, and sheer cold as some.
I guess try lugia. If it doesnt work out, put back in Lapras. But, this is just my advice, take others' if you want :)
P.S: Sorry if im wrong, but isnt this supposed to go into the Q & A section?

Dude, Lugia is Psychic/Flying o_o Anyway, if it the team is just for in-game, then you could think about adding Lugia, but I think your team is perfectly fine. It is diversed, and that Tyranitar (when it evolves) is going to be amazing anyway. ;)

    FrostPhoenix,
Sorry that I'm a newbie here. I'll look for the Q & A section next time.

Actually, the Help thread sticky is for questions but the In-game Team Help section (https://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=199) is where questions relating to teams and all should go. Hence I'll close this as you've already gotten an answer or few - but my two cents is that Lugia would help but he wouldn't be needed. The plus for using it over Lapras is that Lapras is lagging a bit behind the rest of the team in terms of levels, but if you catch it up it'd be useful anyways.
