Do you Rely on Only One Pokemon?

Before when I was still a little kid and didn't quite understand the game, I used to rely on only my starter and on legendary Pokemon. But as of now I rely on my whole Pokemon team. I usually will train them all to the same level with my main only being like one or two levels higher and I constantly switch Pokemon out to use whoever works at the time strength/level/type wise.

mmm i always train aprox 20 pokemon´s, 6 are the base team, they are with me almost from the start of the game, other 6 is the second team, o how i call them the "alter team", and the rest 8 pokes are "in case of..."
Actually, i´ve been playing diamond and my principal team are:
Infernape (my starter), Empoleon, Alakazam, Honchkrow, Lucario and Garchomp;
my alter team are:
Pidgeot, Metagross, Blaziken, Scizor, Gengar and Rhyperior;
and the 8 restant are:
Golem, Luxray, Machamp, Sceptile, Poliwrath, Dragonite, Gardevoir and Blissey

All.
The.
Time.

My starter is usually the Pokemon who gets all the main battling done, and to make matters worse, sometimes he's the only properly leveled one.
I think on my old Diamond , Infernape was like level 64, while Staravia and all my others were like level 24 or something.

Until ruby i was very my starter is my strongest and thats all i will use but once i got ruby i caught and trained a variety of pokemon

I've played since yellow and this is something I still find myself doing. Generally my starter and one other Pokemon. And maybe a legendary thrown in later on.
It's a bad habit and one I'll probably try to break for HG/SS's release.

Relyed on My blazkin Then discovered EVing

In Pearl I rely on my Lv. 93 or 94 Parukia (Parukia > Palkia imo). In Diamond (Scramble Challenge 2.0) I'm relying on my Lv. 29 Charmeleon, my Lv. 23 Smoochum, and my Lv. 24 Geodude. In Platinum, I rely on my friends' Lv. 100 Scizor, Leafeon, and Garchomp, and I'm beginning to start to rely on my Adamant Gallade for stuff :3

On my Ruby, I relied solely on my grinded Lv. 100 Blaziken (15+ E4 wins pl0x).

In my Gold ROM (which I've epicly cheated on), I rely on my Shiny Scizorcaterpie (it's a glitch that I can't figure out how it happened. I had a Shiny Scizor, went into the Bug Catching contest, caught a few Pokémon [shiny cheat still on], and when I got done, my entire party was erased, the game didn't register that I had caught any Pokémon, but I got back a Caterpie. It was shiny, but it was a Scizor. My only theory is that the game recognized similar color bytes and got confused. So now I have a high-leveled Shiny Scizor that looks like a Caterpie, but can't evolve being that it's a Scizor. It's pretty awesome XD) at Lv. 80-something.

On HeartGold/SoulSilver, I expect I'll end up relying on Typhlosion/Feraligatr and maybe Ho-Oh/Lugia.

Also, this needs to be moved to the Pokémon General sub-forum, me thinks.

I used to do this when I was young and first played Yellow. I had to focus on Caterpie evolving into Butterfree so it could use its Confusion to defeat Brock (everything else was weak against him). Once all of that was done, Butterfree was many levels above the rest, so I just stuck with him all the way to Saffron City (by then Butterfree had reached level 60!) Then I got bored with using Butterfree all the time and tried to continue using Pikachu . . poor Pikachu had his butt handed to him =P I learned the hard way and now I always keep all of my team the same level.

I rely on my lovely Psychic Types. I feel that using One Pokemon is easy but stupid.

Back in the g/s days I used to rely on just my Typhlosion and Umbreon, we beat everyone in the game except Red. In ruby I used just Blaziken, Aggron, and Groudon but could never beat the elite four with them.

No I always balance my team out so they're all at the same level... I learned that lesson the hard way :(

When I first played Blue I'm sure I mostly just used my starter. Since then I've usually keep 5 Pokemon around the same level and used an HM slave in my last space.

Sometimes it's easier if I just let my Torterra defeat everything, but I try and keep at least a water type and fire type that are close to its level (79) closest is Infernape (65)

No, but in the beggining i always relyd on my starter. Now i usually release my starter to make the game harder ;).

This is embarresing... I used to only train my starter! But here's why, read the whole thing! I wanted to train my other Pokemon, but I kept forgetting to switch out my starter in my party! (If I'm using a certain Pokemon, I want it out to start the battle.) But I'm better! Making stratgies, using more thsn my starter is my game now! But then I got kinda sick over the weekend and haven't wanted to play much... Don't worry, it's not swine flu! It's probably not.

Nope, never. I've never understood how anyone could live with just one Poke'mon! Well, not live, but you get the point. I don't understand HM slaves, either. I like to spread it out - all of the Poke'mon in my party are always different types, most have more than one type, and if I just give each one a single HM, that's all I need. Moves such as Defog, Flash, Dig and other unneccessaries I don't bother with.

If I keep my whole team on the same level, even though this requires more training, I can beat any trainer/gym leader/elite four member/pokemon without fail just by switching my Poke'mon.

Actually Made That Mistake A Long Time Ago When I tried to Level UP my Starter before I battled a gym leader I lost cuz my only strong pokemon is my starter
