The current problem today is in Haiti, almost every artists post in their Facebook that they are helping, campaining, joining the group in helping our beloved-Haitians. :3

So the question is that do you think that artists help people just because of fame? :/

    Yes, or no?

    Discuss.

I would imagine it's sort of divided, so there's no definite yes or no answer.

Of course there's those people that donate to these kinds of things because they see it as a worthy cause and a good use of their money, and they truly want to help.

Then on the flipside there's bound to be some people who only donate to help their image, making them look like they care for the people in need can greatly improve someone's image in the public eye. These people might not actually care much for the cause, but pick the most worthy and donate large sums to them, as to not make them seem like they're greedy.

So yeah, some of them would do it to improve the public's opinions on them, others would do it because they genuinely want to help out.

I read about this on a site I usually go on, anyway, isn't it on iTunes as well as Facebook?
I know Linkin Park talk about charities but i've never seen them donate to them [as in I've seen their music videos and thouht they gain money for themselves instead of giving it to charities] (Not saying anything bad about Linkin Park I like them as well!)
Here's the article I found on the site I visit
    Spoiler:
Yeah it's a guitar tablature site and what?

Some of them probably does it out of a sense of duty they grow because of their fame. Others does it for the fame, but the rest may just mean well. It depends on the person, really; popular people are people nonetheless.

I don't think they get socially penalized for not doing something (unless they make a point of saying they won't), but clearly they're doing it in part for PR. Otherwise they'd just donate without announcing it to the world.
