Ok first, I'm Daphnes. I came here a long time ago, and left, as I get in and out of interest with pokemon from time to time. I came here to rant a little on a couple of things I noticed in the R,S,& E games with people who might actually care to hear it. They are arial ace, and a move I call spotlight that may or may not actually be called that.
Is it just me, or can every pokemon and their grandmother learn arial ace? It's a flying type move that never misses, and is the bane of one of my teams. I use a misdreavous to counter earthquake and explosion in dual battles, as those are hard hitting moves. The best partner for a ghost type in my opinion is a fighting type, but I keep seeing pokemon using arial ace that shouldn't be using flying type moves! I mean come on, Macago!? The slug with a rock shell on its back using a flying type move?
The other is a move that causes all attacks to hit that pokemon. To best utilize this kind of move, it's best to use three pokemon: Shuckle who has the best physical and special defense in the game, steelix who has the second best physical defence, and blissey who has the second best special defence. Yet these pokemon can't learn the move to my knowledge. Instead, the makers give this move to pokemon with average physical and special defence at best. The only upside is that togetic is immune to two types of attacks.
Ok, that's my rant. I've been reading about new games coming out, with who knows what new ules and stuff. Oversatuating the market is the biggest turnoff this series has in my opinion.
