Does Light Screen double the user's special attack?

If I have a pokemon who knows light screen, and they get attacked with a special move, would it double my special stats? I don't know if it still does in Platinum, but I know it does in the first generation games (to my knowledge).

No, Light Screen will not double the user's Special Attack. It will only halve the damage taken from special attacks. It was only in Gen 1 that it doubled the user's Special stat.

Since there's no longer a "Special" stat, the only stat it affects now is Sp. Defense.

It only did that because in Gen 1, Special Attack and Special Defense were the one stat; Special.
