Well, I feel kind of limited in choosing music for my Pokémon Game, and I plan on using music from newer generations of 3DS and Switch, but as songs from more recent Pokémon Games are much more defined compared to songs from GBA's Pokémon Games, I would think it wouldn't fit well.

For example, a comparison with the Pallet Town music from Gen 3, with the Postwick music, it's very different.

And also mixing the songs of generations, for example, in one city it's a Gen 3 music, on a route it's Gen 7, in another city it's Gen 5, etc.

But for you all, do you think it's weird to use a song from a much newer Pokémon Game in a GBA-looking Pokémon Game?

I don't mind at all, I like the better quality of newer soundtracks, and to be honest, I am fed up with the old games soundtracks ^^
