TV Does Sherlock's The Abominable Bride spoiler the series?

I still need to watch the S3E3, but I want to go see the special in theaters tomorrow, also want to take my Mother who has been a fan of Sherlock but has not seen the BBC Modern Day series yet.

Any help before we go, if we should go?

Well, at the beginning they did a recap of everything that happened so far, so that's super-spoilery, but other than that it's really standalone. I missed all of season 3, but I'm not a die-hard fan so I figured I'd be fine either way.
