Whether it be on the radio, television or through downloading music from a site you shouldn't be (naughty), most people prefer to listen to something that doesn't sound scratchy, and is clear. Though not all the time we're able to listen to something that actually sounds clear. For example, the radio not quite on the right band, TV aerial, etc.

Do you mind listening to something that sounds scratchy, or has beeping sounds in the background, etc? (As long as the information provided, or song is interesting/appeals to you?) Do you sometimes get to a point where you stop listening to whatever you're listening to completely because of the sound quality? What if you couldn't change the sound quality, and you really loved a song or something - so you have to put up with the sound to listen to it? D:

When something has bad quality, I generally either get another version of the song that's not so bad, or if it's the radio or something, I keep on moving the band thing until it actually has clear quality, which sometimes takes ten minutes, which is damn annoying.

also is it just me or does the bold text confuse me :(

I always need to download good or high quality songs. I can't stand anything that sounds scratchy, really quiet or just any bad trait that ruins the sound of songs. Any random beeping or shouts (when they say it's a sneak preview) really annoy me.

I can only listen to clean and good/high quality songs and I will keep searching until I find one.

Well of course it matters, to me anyway. If I find a low quality scratchy sounding piece of music, I just don't continue listening to it and forget about it altogether, but if I'm actually trying to find something, then I'd just keep searching for it, there would have to be better quality somewhere, and if there isn't, then I'll just leave it.
Low quality music is a waste of space in my opinion.

Many bands don't have better recordings of their songs because they can't afford to get recorded in expensive studios. I listen to a lot of local bands whose sound quality isn't that great, but write really awesome songs. Personally I listen to the music, not the sound quality, so it doesn't bother me. Of course, better quality is preferred, but it's not the main thing.

I download a lot of music daily and I can not stand when is not of the best quality. I used to no care that much, The only instance that it is okay is when its a song that the artist is not going to officially release so you have to take what you can get.

    LOL!

Gotta love the sound qualilty on Youtube.

Jumping from a low qualtiy music video from the 1980's to a very loud new AMV!

    Sound quality matters to me.

It has to be just about perfect for me to want to listen to it.

Ugh, I hate bad quality. It literally sends a shiver down my spine. =/ perfect quality for me....

I aim for the highest quality that's possible for a recording. If I'm downloading, I normally try to find FLAC instead of MP3s. However, a lot of first efforts from bands are of lower quality, and I really enjoy that too. But still, if I don't buy the album myself I'll wait for a lossless rip.

I always go for the highest audio and/or video quality that my equipment can support. I don't mind something subpar, if that's all that's available. But if I know there's something better it bugs me.

On a side note, 24bit vinyl rips really drains the battery on your iPod XD

It bothers me, but only if it's really terrible. The lowest quality MP3 I can usually stand is 128kbps. I usually try to find at least 192, and go for 320 if I can find it. I'm not one of those people who claims they can tell the difference between a FLAC song and a 320kbps MP3.

I can't listen to FM radio on a station I don't quite get, either. The static just annoys me too much.

Well I make music myself, so really don't have respect for really crap sounding music. If the music is not anything new, I hate it. I won't even download an mp3 of my fav. song if it has bad sound quality. I like everything at it's best. ;)
