killerjorge: accepted. Added to list of apprentices. Would you mind having Chikara as your master?

killerjorge: denied. I'm sorry, but even though the character fits what this is about, you just don't seem to be able to write (type) a very good story in RP format. This isn't just a chat, where you can just have one line, you have to be descriptive.
Sorry to sound mean, but true writers make better RPers.

(OOC: gah... it's been forever! I feel like it's just the two of us keeping this RP alive.... AND I'M NOT OUTSIDE THE LIMIT! It's got two days till it dies, so deal with it!)

IC:
Nodding to his master, Haru quickly followed, wondering just where she would lead them to train, or introduce themselves. Haru also couldn't the feeling someone was wishing him dead... or atleast viciously harmed in some way. Trying to locate the source of the ill-omens, he was unable to as they vanished almost as quickly as they had come. All the while he was continuing to follow his teacher, checking behind him to see if their teammate was following as well.

~~~~~
Kyuu growled at the two women Her haru was paired with. HER haru? Where did that come from? Yeah.. she liked him.. but she wasn't possessive.. was she? Growling to herself in irritation, she sat atop the building as her partner left the scene with his team, rubbing her forhead to try and clear it of the odd thoughts that had been clouding her mind. "It's not like he's old enough for me anyways..." She muttered to noone in particular, so she was quite surprised when she heard somone answer from behind her.
"Old enough to kill, my dear, old enough to love." Said the wizened voice of an elderly man, his thick eyebrows covering his eyes as his long, pointed beard threatened to drag the ground as he hunched over.
"Wh-who are you?" She asked defensively. An old man able to reach this height was definatly more than he appeared, and since few of the villagers had seen her in this form, he may suspect her of being a spy or some other nonsence, but such was not the case.
"Go to him. Master Haru will need you more than ever in coming months..." He said, turning away. "more than you can ever know..." It was with this he seemed to turn to smoke, dissapearing from the rooftop with the wind that blew past, ruffling her hair and causing the lone tail behind her to sway idlly. Just who was this old man? And what did he mean by 'Master' Haru? This did not strike her as good.. but she let it slide for the moment, for now she had to busy herself with the task of locating her mislocated partner.
"when I find that boy.... i'll strangle his teacher for dragging him away from me!" she thought angrilly to herself, setting off in kitsune form to find the boy she drempt of.
"Sorry about that..." I said. "Polaris is a little... weird. Anyway... so yeah, I'm Cynthia... and you're... Haru, right?" I said to the boy.
"He's not gonna fall for that, you idiot," Vulcan said as Kotarin set the trap, putting the bucket full of water in the tree above. "He's a Master, B-rank."
"You'll see..." replied Kotarin.
"Why is he so late?" Brooklyn said, tapping her foot impatiently. "Is he ALWAYS this late?"
"From what I hear, yeah," said Kotarin. "Who knows why... maybe he loses track of the time, or maybe he's just messing around." He turned around. "Hey, is that him?"
A young man at about twenty with short, spiked brownish-silver hair and one eye scarred shut (his other eye was blue) approached.
"Master Aiolos?" Brooklyn asked tentatively.
The man nodded, but he didn't have time to say anything else, for the bucket of water overturned and soaked him.
"What the-"
Kotarin laughed. "I told you it would work!"
Vulcan rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
If its not too late to sign up. This just looks too cool to pass up.
Name:
Tobias Violet Sunrose
Age: 13
Race: Human
Element: Nature
Background: Toby's family were all mages, but they were each unique in their own way, and their elements represented this. Toby's brother, Mark, had a fiery tempreature, and his element was fire. His Sister, Abbey, was the smartest of the siblings, and her element was Spirit/Mind. His Father, Elrik, was a strong silent man, and his element was earth. His Mother, Rebecca, was strict, but caring woman, and her element was Thunder.
Although, Toby is considered the weakest, because he is the youngest and the smallest, he should not be under-estimated. He has proven himself to his family, after various bouts with his brother, leaving both of them exhausted.
Personality:
Toby, unlike his family, is quite a quiet, secluded boy. He is caring, and has a deep connection to nature. He likes to go into the woods, with a tome, and read as he listens and hears the sounds of the forest. The birds singing, and the various noises of the forest, they help him focus.
Appearance: Toby stands at 5ft 11, around 1.5m, and he has a slim build. He has long brown hair, pinned up in a pony tail, which still reachs his shoulders. His eyes are blue, and he has long musical fingers.
Partner Creature: Tigris ()
Abilities: (If any of these are too good, please tell me, so I can fix them)
Call of the Wild: Lets out a roar, calling surronding animals to his aid. (this is limited to outdoors)
Strength of the Beast: Grants Toby the Strength of a nearby beast, making him stronger and tougher. (At the beginning, this will be very weak.)
Rin's Wrath: Allows Toby to command the flora to attack his foes. (Uses a lot of energy)
Protection of the Guardians: Encase's Toby in vines. (Fire burns through very quickly, and very easily)
Seedlings: Makes a random seedling using mana. (May seem pointless, but it isn't)
The ability to sense a Creature's pain, and speak into its mind.
(Are there too many?)
-----------------------
Name: Melinda
Species: Tigris
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Melinda's fur is blue instead of your usual colours for a tigris. She is a large, strong Tigris, and makes up for the weaker physical strength of her partner, Toby.
Personality: Melinda is a mischevous and playful, yet knowlegdable Tigris. She can be judgemental at times, but she is generally cheerful. She is known for her loyalty, and her ability to read a person.
Element: Water
Abilities:
Water Jet:
Fires a jet of water from her mouth.
Gills: Allows her to breath underwater.
Torrent Crunch:
Formed by water, a giant Tigris mouth bites down on the enemy.
"So," said Aiolos, "Today, as this is our first day, I will test you to see what level you are on."
"Ha! Piece of cake!" said Kotarin.
"Don't count on it, idiot." muttered Vulcan.
"What did you say?!" asked Kotarin, rounding on Vulcan.
Aiolos sighed heavily. "I can already tell this is going to be a problem. Kotarin, you're up first."
"All right! I'll show ya I'm capable!"
"Don't cry when he beats the tar outta you, loser." said Vulcan.
"What?!"
"Kotarin!" Aiolos commanded. "ok... attack me!"
"Just attack?"
"Yes."
"With anything? Magic? Physical skills?"
"Show me." said Aiolos.
Kotarin drew his blade and charged!
Aiolos stepped aside.
He charged again, but once more his master stepped aside.
Surprisingly, with that, Aiolos pulled a small notebook and quill out of his pocket. He held the book open in his left hand as the quill began to write by itself by magic.
"What are you doing?" asked Kotarin.
"Ssh, child, unless you can tell me the words that rhyme with "fire"..." replied Aiolos, still looking at the notebook. "No..., that's not right." he muttered, and the quill scratched something out.
"You're writing poetry?"
"Yes. Not meaning to brag, but I am an esteemed poet." Aiolos said, still not taking his eyes off the book.
"I can see that, Master, but why are you writing poetry NOW?" he swung his blade forward.
With a clanging sound, Aiolos unsheathed his sword and blocked Kotarin's attack.
"Because..." he said, "I can. And..." he blocked another attack, "It doesn't matter, because your level of attack is so weak and predictable. My entire focus doesn't have to be on you."
"TAKE THAT BACK!" roared Kotarin, swinging his blade wildly at him.
Aiolos coolly blocked each advance. "You must learn to control your emotions."
Name: Kile Ater Plutonium [apprentice]
Age: 14
Race: Split Soul
Element: Thunder
Background: Kile's life has been rough ever since he was a small boy. He was born a split soul, and for that, he was shunned in his village. He didn't have any friends, so through his days he practiced beingf a mage. When he turned 10 he ran away from home and lived in the wilderness. Living in the Land of Gale, he became used to storms, he attuned to being a Thunder Mage.
Personality: Being a split soul, Kile's personality varies. When he is Kile, he is a cold, shy person. He usually doesn't talk much due to people shunning him. His Split personality, Elik, is a loud, joking, and talkative person. Elik makes friends quick and has many allies.
Appearance: Both Kile and Elik seem alike. If you were to look at them the only real difference you would see was in they're eyes. Kile has blue eyes, to where as Elik has red eyes. They stand at 5'9, tall by they're age. They're head is covered in thick curly brown hair. Other then that, they're body type is average for their age, not to thin and not to fat.
Partner Creature: Fenrir [Thunder] His name is Fallout
Abilities: Uhmm, I'll try my best to come up with some. Tell me if I have to change em'...
Lightning Bolt: A single lightning strike that has massive electric energy.
Hurricane Ball: A ball of Hurricane that explods into a Hurricane wherever it strikes.
Dance of Thunder: The user is surrounded in a vortex of Thunder that protects them from enemy fire.
Overcharge: This ability uses up all the user's aura but does equal the damage. A big ball of energy wraps around the enemy and the user. The enemy is paralyzed by the strong electric current, while the user is free to move about.
OOC:
Zasz: Accepted. Since Kimichi-sama isn't gonna RP here anymore, you'll be under Cynthia in her place, ok?
Annoyed, Kotarin snatched the book from his master's hand.
"KOTARIN!" yelled Brooklyn, "That was incredibly rude!"
But it was too late for Kotarin to apologize, for the next thing he knew he was flying through the air!
Aiolos had hit him with an attack while he was distracted.
"Pfft. Idiot." muttered Vulcan.
SPLASH! Kotarin fell into the river!
"Help!" he shouted, being dragged away by the current.
Kyubi started forward to help his partner, but Vulcan put his hand in the way.
"Let me do it, Kyubi." he said.
The kitsune nodded slowly. "It is time you showed your master your skill."
Vulcan darted forward, running alongside the river as Kotarin struggled against the current desperately.
"Vulcan! Look!" cried Brooklyn, "The waterfall!"
She was right. The edge loomed closer and closer.
"Won't you do something about it, Master?" Brooklyn asked Aiolos.
"Let Vulcan show us he's capable," Aiolos replied. "And besides, should he fail, Hisathor won't let any harm come to them." He pointed up at his Imperial Dragon circling the scene from above. "And neither will Thekurys or Kyubi, I'm sure," he added, looking at Kotarin's Kitsune and Vulcan's Phoenix.
"Of course not." Thekurys growled, "Why would you think I'd let such harm befall my partner?"
"He didn't," Kyubi said calmly.
By now Vulcan had almost caught up with Kotarin. With the rope that he had gotten out of his bag in his hand, he shouted to his teammate- "Kotarin!"
Too late- Kotarin had plummeted off the edge!
"Damn," hissed Vulcan. He threw the rope forward, quickly muttered an incantation to make it tie itself around a nearby tree, tied the other end to his waist, and jumped off the edge, following Kotarin.
Kotarin fell. And fell. The waterfall and cliffside blurred with the speed he was going at. Surely he wouldn't die this way!
And suddenly, he felt a strong hand firmly grab his ankle.
"Whoooaaaa... whoaaaaa!" The ground looked even scarier to him while he was suspended upside-down. He looked up (or down, whatever) and met the eyes of his rescuer.
"Vulcan!" he shouted in surprise. Vulcan was dangling off the cliff edge by a rope, and had caught him- admittedly by the ankle, but it was enough.
He muttered a spell and the rope began to pull them up.
When they had reached the top, Kotarin could finally be positioned upright.
"Kotarin, are you ok?" asked Aiolos, who had run over to the edge to see what was going on.
"Yeah, I guess..." he said shakily. He looked at Vulcan. "Thanks."
Vulcan rolled his eyes. "I'm not always gonna be here to save your ass, loser." he grumbled.
OOC: Yes, you may.
Cynthia looked at the new student, a split soul. (is he Kile or Elik right now?) "Hello, Kile/Elik," she said.
She turned to face both of her students. "So... will you please introduce yourselves? I'd like to know your elements and partner myths."
***
SkyeMist looked down at the young boy. (Iago)
So, she said, what is your name?
OOC: hes kile right now..
Kile looked up weakly. "M-m-my name is Kile pleased to me-" he stopped and looked down.
He looked back up, his eyes now a blazing red.
"HI! I'm Elik, pleased to meet you!"
Elik continued, "My main element is Thunder but I'm also studying Earth!"
He looked down at the Fenrir beside him, "And this!" He proudly said, "Is Fallout! He's a thunder Fenrir and i don't what I'd do without him!"
Elik regained his posture and suddenly his eyes turned a bright blue.
Kile said, "Oh sorry about that..."
He felt embarrassed about Elik, but he knew it was part of the process of learning his element, to also control his spilt-soul.
Haru blinked. Split souls? Those were very hard to come by.... Bipolar yeah, but split souls were a whole 'nother deal. He blinked as the gaze of his teammates tore him from his mental sub-conversation.
"O-oh! My name is Takami Haru" He said, bowing politely "My element actually deals with ash and smoke rather than actual flames... but don't underestimate me!" He added, nodding his head firmly.
"My partner is... wait.... where is-" He was cut off
"I'm right here Haru!" she called out from above, dropping down into a low bow, her arms spread to either side, forming it into a cross between a bow and a curtsey. "My name is Kyu. I'm a kitsune with the mildly-rare transformation skill." an ear twitched to prove her point, and her tail swayed behind her in the gentle wind. Bolth bowed one last time.
"It's very nice to meet you."
Wow, smoke? I never even knew that was around.. Kile laughed in his mind. From the back of his thoughts, a voice said, "Kile, never underestimate anyone, no matter what they are!"
Kile hated Elik sometimes, but he admitted that he was right.
Who knew what he could do with Smoke?
Kile flinched at the thought of fire.
Sensing Kile's thoughts, Fallout whispered, "Trouble Kile?"
"No, not now." He responded, "But when training time comes, there very well could be..."
"Nice to meet you all." said Cynthia. She couldn't help but notice something in the Kitsune, Kyuu's eyes. Was she... angry? No, that couldn't be. "I have decided to put you to a simple test, just to see what level you are on. Not as much in power as in wit." she turned. "Follow me."
***
She led them to a small field, with a large stump in the middle.
"All right. See this bell?" she held up a small bell tied to a little string. Her apprentices and their partners nodded. "Good." she muttered a spell and it vanished. "It is hidden somewhere in this field." she waved her hand and a line appeared, circling the area that was the field itself. "It is not beyond that line. Your mission: to find it." She smiled slightly. "Begin."
Hmhm. The pitfall again? SkyeMist said in Cynthia's mind. (OOC: Explanation: SkyeMist can 'see' Cynthia in her mind as long as they are not too far apart.)
Cynthia nodded slightly, barely noticable.
Testing their wit, huh? You know they're not all as paranoid as you.
Cynthia smiled. Barely moving her lips, she formed the words "I know. How is the young man you found?"
He's doing all right.
Haru couldn't help but blink. "Huh? I've heard of this test before....but... aren't we usually supposed to like... I dont know... test our combat skills against you with it?" He blinked, scratching his face slightly as he raised his hood enough that it shadowed his face, his lone visible eye seeming to reflect the light enough that it was visible.
Kyuu glanced at their new 'sensei'. Was she... reading her? Aww crap... figures. Any emotion that she displayed, even the faintest one, would show up to those eyes... Well, she wasn't the only one with special eyes. She smiled at Haru, walking over. "Need any help?" she asked lighlty, leaning an elbow on his shoulder.
He shrugged the opposite one, apparently rubbing just under his nose, it was hard to tell with his mask on. (but kyuu couldn't help but notice how 'mysterous' it made him look, not that she'd ever told him this)
"Dunno... It is just a searching test apparently... but you always could help me look about... think we'd get in trouble for burning the field to find it?" He chuckled, obviously grinning.
Kyuu chuckled also, shaking her head slightly. "Yeah, i'm pretty sure we would kiddo" She said, deadpanning and appearing to sweat visibly, though it was gone in a second. "So, lets get to work, shall we?" She clapped their hands and the two went off in different directions, covering more ground this way.
"Pshhh, this'll be easy as.... pie!"
Kile exclaimed.
Kile was always aware that he was able to split unto two people for a short amount of time, and this was just the kind of thing that was good for.
"Finally! It's so boring inside of you Kile!"
Elik said as he slid out of Kile's back.
Kile, Elik, and Fallout split into three directions, hoping that having 3 people on the lookout would improve they're chances, but in fact, it would only harm them.
