[PokeCommunity.com] Donkey Kong Country Returns (ReDa: 11/21)

URTHHHHHREDDET, URTHHHHHREDDET <----(Failed attempt at the donkey kong noise.)

Boys and Girls alike, your favorite Kong returns this November, and it finally does not involve one of those god awful Bongos!

Donkey Kong Country Returns does in-fact imply what it's name says!
The classic Donkey Kong side-scroller that the majority of us grew up with only to love and adore on the SNES is back on the Wii with a more modern day approach.

    Anyone excited for the return?

I personally never got into Donkey Kong Country that much, but I am excited to see them bringing back such a classic. The classic Country games were not only very fun, but incredibly challenging. I can only hope for the same with this upcoming release!

I would always play the original DKC on my old Game Boy Color.
Wouldn't it be plain AWESOME if they included one of the originals as a bonus, like they included an old Indiana Jones P'n'C in Staff of Kings?

YES YES YES YES YES YES.

    I want this game so bad. ;-;
I love that there aren't way too many people in the Kong family in this, just Cranky, Donkey, and Diddy. The multiplayer looks AWESOME, the graphics are AWESOME, I like how challenging these games rare, and I just love these games altogether, so yeah. (b'')b

    Donkey Kong FTW.

The Donkey Kong platformers have been a mixed bag for me.

The original DKC is impressive purely from a technical standpoint (for the time). Great visuals and great audio. Gameplay itself though? Average.

DKC2 was much better. Still not really one of my favourites. And DKC3 was boring.

Donkey Kong Land on the other hand is probably one of the best platformers I've ever played.

This seems a lot more like Jungle Beat to me than DKC as well.

I never played the originals, but they look pretty good, however frustrating. Still unsure as to whether I wanna give this one a try, though.

Ah! I can;t wait for this to come out! I have very, very fond memories of the original trilogy. I had DKC2 and 3, and had many opportunities to play the first, and I have to say, they are some of my favorite games for the SNES. ^__^

One thing I kinda wish they had kept the same was the kremlings. Not that big of a deal, but I love nostalgia, so having the Kremlings would have made me very happy. ^__^

Sadly I never got to chance to play the original DKC games. ;(

I'm liking what I've seen so far though. I'm planning on picking this one up. Hopefully this game will give me and many others a chance to experience what we missed out on!

Its not out yet, but game informer gave it a 9.5 out of 10.

"Epic boss battles" and "best platformer I've played in awhile."

Well sweeties, it's out and my brother and I are playing it too death. It's an excelent successor to Donkey Kong Country. I really feel like I'm playing a new SNES game, and that's a great thing.

Also the game is either hard, or I'm getting rusty. XD

I played the original oh so long ago and found it pretty challenging, there was one section I never got past... I might try it out, not a massive fan of the games, but now that this is out, I do remember myself having fun on the original Game Boy version.

How is it controlled? Is it with the nunchuck in tandem, or just the wiimote flipped sideways?

I just got it about two days ago.
This game is really good, and received high ratings.

I highly suggest picking this game up.
Like most co-op platformers, I recommend playing by yourself. But single player is extremely good.

The animal crate is a LIE!

The only animal friend in here is the rhino! Where is my bada$$ swordfish? My cocained up ostrich? My parrot pukeing coconuts? My awesome spider wearing sneakers?

    gone! :(

whats worse i cant play as diddy in 1 player mode. Lame!

This is not the donkey kong i used to love...

Ohhh and i hate those rocketbarrel stages in the face! They're made to eat up lives! You b@$terdz! x.x

games ok for new comers though. enjoy my mangled childhood kids theres more where that came from! ♪~
