Dont you love your country!

Well, where do I start with England >.>

~Our government are mostly made of idiots.

~The Recession has destroyed the value of the sterling, so there is no point going abroad unless you actually want to lose money when getting an exchange to the countries selected money.

~People are getting let off, left, right and center

~The Government are happily getting on with their life when the public they are suppose to be looking after are barely getting by.

~Gorden Brown doesn't give a toss >.>

I admit, England the most worse off country by far! I am just pointing out bad points.
There are more but I can't be bothered to type it out because it makes me want to move.

I don't love my country as a separate distinct entity from all the other countries in the world. I think that kind of patriotism is downright poisonous. I recognize the values my country (usually) upholds as being what they are - relative.

I DO love my country because , gosh darnit, it's great place to live!!!!!! I'm grateful that myself and the majority of the country don't starve, and have an incredible standard of living (though I think the means to that end should change big-time).

Overall, I would rate a country by how much it's citizens care for one another. What is the point of being part of a larger whole if each individual is not looking out for everyone else's well being? If you're only out for your own betterment (and some of the execs on Wall Street are a great example of this), and think of being part of a country as a means to that end, then that is the definition of a leech, much more so than hippies who do nothing but are otherwise harmless and not nearly as destructively self-centered. Being a group is about being together and caring about one another. We have a lot of people in the US (though certainly not everyone) who are looking out for other people, people they don't even know, and I'm thankful for that. That's what I love my country for.

Yeah my country is full of fail (USA).
- I'm allowed to vote on the president at 18 (decision that affects the whole country) but I'm not allowed to buy beer until I'm 21 (decision that affects only me).
- I'm told everywhere I go, the tv, the radio, billboards, that I should join the army and serve my country and love my country, but how exactly can I do that when they tell me I'm not good enough? I'm sorry, but being 250 lbs means you're never going to pass boot camp, thus meaning you'll never be "good enough" for your country (at least that's how I feel about it, I'm not good enough for it). I have mental talents, but no if I can't pass basic I'm worthless.
- I make minimum wage at a fast-food restaurant, but somehow I don't qualify for medical coverage. I can't afford health insurance, but at the same time "I make too much" for the state to pay for my surgery that costed $16,000.

When my country starts caring a little bit more about the people in the middle, I'll start caring about it. People at the bottom of the totem pole are handed money left and right (those who have ten thousand kids and have medicare for all of them and use their welfare to buy dope), and the people at the top get a free ride (they need no credit checks, they need no down payments, they make so much their tax is miniscule, they get no added interest for loans, etc). I work 40 hours a week for seven bucks an hour, I shell out half my monthly income for my apartment, and the other half goes for car insurance to get me to work, food so I stay alive, and electric so I don't live like a caveman. Where is this $16,000 supposed to come from? Screw off, America.
(Note: In this rant I am NOT hating on those who have joined the army or those who gave their lives as a result of it, I am thankful for their sacrifices. I only wish the people running this popsickle stand had half a brain and knew how to put their sacrifices to good use.)

I don't see how America is overrated. I love my country. I don't even travel out of the country because I feel if I haven't visited the whole country, visiting somewhere else is a waste of time.
