Double battle team [RMT]
Yes, I've moved on from defiling the PC Shoddy server to defiling the S&M forum :) But this is for good reason, as most of you guys know that I suck at just about every form of competitive battling known to man. Therefore, I need your help.
For a little bit of background info, I'm entering in the Video Game Championship series, and I'll have three days to create a team good enough to get somewhere in the tournament. So, without further ado, here is the team that I drafted to compete in the series:
Now, this is all fine and dandy, but I know that Sheer Cold only has 30% accuracy. I was actually considering using a Mind Reader Articuno instead of Kyogre, but then I remembered No Guard. Thus, Machamp was in as well.
Then, I ran into a dilemma. Neither Pokémon could learn Skill Swap or a suitable equivalent. So, a third Poké would be required for Skill Swapping No Guard from Machamp to Kyogre. After one turn or so, the opponent would realize what I was doing, which would pose a threat to my entire plan. Therefore, I chose a Pokémon with high, balanced defenses: Dusknoir.
I still had one slot left (remember, it's 4 vs 4 double battle), so I decided to put something in to obliterate the first two Pokémon on the opponent's team. A suicide lead immediately came to mind, and Metagross would fit the role perfectly. High defenses, a small pool of weaknesses, and an astronomical attack stat made it a perfect candidate. Couple that in with a Life Orb or a Choice Band, and it would more or less destroy everything.
NOTE: EVs are in the following format: HP/Atk/Def/Sp. Atk/Sp. Def/Spd
The Team
Machamp (No Guard)
Nature: Impish
Item: Black Belt? (Tentative)
EVs: 0/252/124/0/124/0
Moves:
-Protect: This is to protect against Metagross's Explosion. Not much use asides from that.
-DynamicPunch: Standard STAB move boosted by Black Belt; won't miss while No Guard is active.
-Stone Edge: For Flying-type switch-ins.
-Payback: Because it has no Speed EVs, Payback would be ideal. Also counters Psychics.
Metagross (Clear Body)
Nature: Adamant
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 0/252/0/0/124/124
Moves:
-Explosion: The entire point behind this set. Will most likely use on first turn, unless if there are Ghosts.
-Earthquake: Use this if there are Ghosts. Should deal a sizeable amount of damage to foes.
-Zen Headbutt: Tertiary attacking move. Mainly to deal with Gengar leads, which could jeopardize everything.
-Reflect: To up Kyogre's and Machamp's meager defenses if Explosion is not an option in the first turn.
Dusknoir (Pressure)
Nature: Adamant
Item: Expert Belt? (Tentative)
EVs: 252/252/0/0/0/6
Moves:
-Skill Swap: The entire point behind this Pokémon. Skill Swap transfers No Guard from Machamp to this Pokémon.
-Shadow Punch: Fairly powerful with STAB, standard support.
-LAST TWO MOVES ARE STILL UNDER CONSIDERATION. SUPPORT WOULD BE MUCH OBLIGED
Kyogre (Drizzle)
Nature: Modest
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 48/0/252/0/0/208
Moves:
-Sheer Cold: Main attack move. Will hit when No Guard is in effect, therefore making it unstoppable.
-Water Spout: Very powerful STAB move if No Guard is not in effect. Also should deal tons of damage to a ShuckBliss or a Shuckle. (FYI, ShuckBliss is a Blissey which Mimics Transform and becomes a Shuckle).
-Thunder: For those pesky Water-types with Water Absorb.
-Surf: Redundant, yes, but will deal a lot of damage if Kyogre has its HP lowered.

VGC Team 20XX: THE MOVIE
Okay, after consulting with a representative from Pokémon International, I found that the OHKO clause is not in effect (which is rather good for me). Therefore, I began designing a team to take advantage of the best OHKO move, Sheer Cold. The bulkiest Sheer Cold user is Kyogre, which would form one of the four Pokémon on my team. ![[PokeCommunity.com] Double battle team [PokeCommunity.com] Double battle team](https://www.gtsplus.net/files/images/sprites/md2-sprites/382.png)
