DP 94/95 Episode Discussion *Japanese Spoilers*

Right. One-hour special. Expect one next week as well.

DP 94: I only watched half of this, but it's the last half of the episode, which I guarantee is hilarious and well worth watching. Glion shows exactly why it's so likeable with its hilarious antics. Poor thing was forgotten by Satoshi and co. until the end of the episode, which was what made the ending effin' hilarious.

DP 95: Hikari won the Contest at Kannagi Town (Celestic), beating her mother's former rival Yuri, using Eteboth to beat Enekoro. However, I get the feeling Hikari was helped by the fact that Eteboth used to be under Satoshi's ownership, thereby increasing her endurance in battle and in terms of taking hits. Not only that, but the Swift attack was really powerful, again helped by the fact that Satoshi used to train Eteboth's power while she was still an Eipam. Personally, I feel that this Contest Battle ranks up there with the best in Sinnoh, so I think you should be in for a treat. I know some of you may not share my view after you've watched it, but it's how I feel about this one.

Seen the first half of 94 and generally watched the thing over. It's good to see that the group are at last engaging in some everyday stuff like this (and they were only forced to battle because Team Rocket decided to show up and do their usual "try to steal the twerps' Pokémon" kind of stuff) and I wouldn't mind an episode like this every once in a while.

As a note though, Glion was absolutely hilarious in this episode. I'll say that it's the funniest Pokémon since Heigani (Corphish) and really, what's not to love about it? XD It's got quite impressive durability though. Despite crashing comically into a tree trunk headfirst, it came out of that as if nothing had happened.

It still has its small-kid mentality from when it was a Gligar though, but I think it's proof that it's still very young and has lots more to learn (and LMAO at Satoshi choosing Mukubird over Glion at first). Oh, and I learnt something too. Glion apparently can't walk; it has to bounce on its tail. Or maybe it just doesn't like walking, and prefers to bounce along on its tail. As I said in an earlier post, the poor thing was forgotten until Satoshi realized Glion hadn't returned at the end of the episode (and it was covered in dirt and bruises from all those falling). The ending is by far the best ever. XD

I still don't know how Pachirisu fell ill though, since earlier in the episode, it was still fine. Its condition is the same as Pikachu's in the late Indigo series to the early AG episodes (unable to release excess electricity, thus developing flu-like symptoms until the excess electricity is drained/released somehow) and it was cured when Takeshi got back, having found out about the situation from Glion. You should see how it tried to act out Pachirisu's condition in front of him; really funny.

Also, Team Rocket saw Thunder (Zapdos) and Kojirou attempted to nail it with a gumball, but missed and hit Mukubird's left wing instead. I guess Thunder wandering around Sinnoh is a reference to Platinum.

(NOTE: Continuity FTW. Pikachu's condition in the early AG days was referenced in a flashback.)

Ahh... that was a gem. The narrator about to say his usual "tsuzuku" line, and then... The look on their faces...particularly Takeshi (see thumbnail). Frickin' hilarious. I mean the other Glion antics didn't really make me laugh, but that one did it.

Also, the sound of Glion bouncing around, lol.

Last time we get to hear Together. No offence, it an OK song, but I long for a new opening now.

DP094 basically shows why Brock is needed in the show. It would be game over for Pachirisu if Brock wasn't there.
Also, am I the only one who think it is weird to eat chips with chopsticks?
I feel sorry for Glion at the end of the episode though.

The part where Yuri sneeks in and fix Hikari hair was kinda funny:

They were probably eating with chopsticks so they could pretend it was a grand meal or something...and they actually did enjoy it.

Well, if she can make good Poffins, she should be able to cook. After all, you know what happens when Satoshi's left to do cooking. XD

It's odd though. Gligar was some 20.3 kg/48.9 lbs. heavier than Glion and it was still possible for Satoshi to carry it up with his two hands. ._.

Or maybe it's the hammerspace haversack of Takeshi's carrying the weight. XD
