Alrighty. As alot of you probably know by now, Dragonball Z is going to be remastered in HD as a new refreshed version of itself. Basically, the series is being cut to 100 episodes and pretty much all the filler is being removed. Well, the reason that I'm posting this here is really threefold. First, there aren't any topics regarding it here yet. Second, we now know that it will have a new opening and ending. Third, we know the name of the new remastered series, Dragonball Kai.

SSJGozar has alot more information on it than what I've mentioned here. So if you want to see what he has to say, as well as the 15-second trailer, it's in the link.

Anyway, I'm just doing this fast, so that's all I'm really going to say regarding it. I just figured there should be some kind of topic about it here. So feel free to discuss it if you want.

Well, I'm a seasoned DB/Z fan through and through and I'm actually pretty interested in this. I do agree to some extent with Magumarashi that the set is most likely a waste, since I've already seen all of the episodes for free and the prospect of spending money to watch the same thing again isn't very smart, but I am a fan and I'll more than likely buy a copy anyway because of that.

Wiki has some info on it.

    Wikipedia said:
In February 2009, Toei announced that they would begin rebroadcasting Dragon Ball Z as part of the series' 20th anniversary celebrations. Scheduled to begin on April 5, 2009, under the name Dragon Ball Kai, the episodes will be remastered for HDTV, featuring updated opening and ending sequences, and a rerecording of the vocal tracks by the original cast.[28][29] A report in V Jump indicates that the episodes would be edited to more closely follow the manga, resulting in a faster moving story, and to remove any damaged frames

oooooor they could be spending their time on a new series instead of milking this cash cow any more than it already is...DB is good and all, but i have a feeling after Dragonball Evolution, no one will want anything to do with it anymore

I have completed every DBZ episode, some of them much more than once.
The anime is one of those great things you can watch on a day in.
I will enjoy watching some of these episodes and it will make DBZ live for ever airing it to the next generations ahead so they may have a childhood of DBZ like I did. :D

Seeing as how their reanimating it, with beautiful.. shiny.. sexy animation. ; ; I'm totally watching it. I was talking about it with a friend of mine, and even though I've seen all of DBZ already, I like it, so it's not a problem watching it again. Especially since the animation will be freaking hot. <3

    >_>

I've seen it all before, but I think I might watch some of the redone fight scenes and parts of the story that are slightly different in that they follow the manga.

I was hoping for an entirely different drawing style, instead I got that all it is going to be is better animation and picture. A little disappointed to be honest, still going to watch it though :3.

I think the preview for Dragonball - Evolution has completely ruined my liking for this series... I may check it out.... I used to be a hardcore fan, but sold out to Sailor Moon and Ronin Warriors. XD
Maybe this new version will help me get back into my "fanatic" phase

    *rolls eyes and head desks*

And AGAIN they milk DB. IT'S OVER. HOW MANY REMAKES/REDUBS/REMASTERS DO WE NEED? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Seriously...Dragon Ball is over. They need to stop trying to bring something that's been dead for almost five years now back and let it go. I like DB, but I'm honestly getting sick of all this stuff their doing for it now. Maybe its because the live action movie has ruined it for me, but still...I think enough is enough. It was nice to remaster it and release them uncut on DVD, but they should have stopped there. Just my opinion though.

I understand that, and that's great...but constantly redoing it...I think that's going too far. There's really no need for it.

they arent redrawing it really they are just remastering it like making the colors better if you have the uncut box sets thats pretty much what its going to be

Theres a video out of someone working on kai redrawing the animation cels on a tablet.

    Wait, what?

If it's just remastered, but still looks all.. 1993-ish.. I'm going to Rage. >_>
