It's like that with any language. An Un nicknamed Pokemon of One language evolves and recieves the Name of the Pokemon in the game's regional Language.

So lets say I have a German Pokemon Diamond and trade an un-nicknamed Squirtle to a French Pearl. Upon evolution in the Pearl, The German Squirtle will gain Wartorle's French Name.
