I really need the best ideas for a dusknoir moveset. Most of the time it would be facing flying and fire types but I want it to be rather widely useable. Thanks to anyone that inputs usable information.

    Dusknoir@Leftovers
    Careful
    -Pain split
    -Shadow punch
    -Focus punch/Brick Break
    -Thunder punch/fire punch

The first two are obvious, but focus punch is used because he causes switch-ins. If you don't think you could do that teach him Brick break. Fire Punch and Thunder punch are there for either Heracross or Gyarados.

yeah, he NEEDS thunder punch and pain slit. brick break is good on him to.

however, i think you should go Will-O-Wisp over Shadow Punch. shadow punch gets STAB with that nice attack stat, but still, it's going to be more important to cut your foes attack with a burn because that is definitely where people are going to try to take dusknoir down -- physical attacks.

I like this set for Dusknoir:

    Substitute
    Will-O-Wisp
    Focus Punch
    Pain Split/Shadow Punch

I like Subpunchers, so that's why I like those two moves, Will-O-Wisp helps him survive for longer, and his Sub becomes very hard to break when they are burnt. :P

Pain Split helps you keep your health up, which is handy because you are using Substitute.. Shadow Claw is just here as an alterntive attack.

I realise he can't do much but stall against Ghost-type pokemon, but he's good at stalling anyway.

For EV's, I would put 252 in defence, 128 in special defence and 128 in attack.

Well, let me give you another alternative, but in the more defensive style.

    Mean Look
    Will-o-whisp
    Curse
    Rest

The idea is to Will-o-whisp your oponnent, than, if it is still there, Mean Look it, Curse it and Rest. :D
If your oponnet switches out when you will-o-whisp it, I suggest to you to Will-o-whisp again. Or if it fails.

    No.
Dusknoir NEEDS 252 EVs in HP for sure. The rest can be split. With his terrible 45 base HP (i think...) he needs every point he can get.

I think Ima' use something like
    -Pain Split
    -Shadow Punch
-Elemental Punch (Gotta' see what the team needs)
-Confuse ray maybe... I have a flinchhax team, and forcing switches is always nice. Esp. with a stealth rock in there.

His HP is so bad though, and he doesn't gain a whole lot by giving him 252 EV's in it...

    I don't think it's worth it really.

*Sigh...* the low HP is exactly why you max it out first. It needs max HP to be durable enough to wall anything, while its Defenses are already high and don't need much. High Defenses with extremely low HP just doesn't work so you have to give it max HP so it can take any hits.
