Easter Eggs

It's April, so let's have a seasonal thread to celebrate! What are your favourite video game Easter Eggs?

For those unaware, an easter egg in a video game is a secret you generally have to go out of your way to find, or a subtle (or not so subtle) reference to a past title or other piece of media contained within a game. One of the more famous examples would be Psycho Mantis commenting on your gameplay choices in the original Metal Gear Solid if you have save data for a particular game on your memory card.

Well, it's certainly not the Animal Crossing ones.

I like the ones in the Tales series a lot. The games are basically fully unconnected, with the exception of a few direct sequels, but there are always little nods to the rest of the series. But more than that, there are often nods to some of Namco/Bandai's other titles. Tales of the Abyss probably had some of my favourites, with Jade Curtiss's belt being Pac-Man and a whole ugly costume where the main character dresses up as the protagonist from one of Namco's old titles, Dragon Buster complete with terrifying mask for a full transformation. I think there's also a Klonoa costume for one of the characters, although I might be mixing the game up with Symphonia. It's rewarding to recognize things like that.

The Last Guardian Easter egg in the Shadow of the Colossus remaster is great. The beating heart in the Statue of Happiness in GTA IV is also... well it's memorable.
