Easter Mini Get-Together?

The last Mini Get-Together at New Years was pretty awesome and was a big success. I also remember at the end of the event, a few people were expressing an interest in doing another Mini Get-Together around Easter, before the big one in August (or July or whenever it is :P).

Seeing as Easter is just under a month away, I'm putting a little question out there: is anyone still interested in doing this? ^^ New Years went so well, I reckon we should do it again. I know I'd be happy to host a couple of events (Egg Swap would certainly return for a second run, plus I have a few other ideas).

Major Easter dates this year are as follows:

Good Friday 2011: Friday 22nd April
Easter Sunday 2011: Sunday 24th April
Easter Monday 2011: Monday 25th April


The Get-Together doesn't strictly have to have the word 'Easter' in it (if we're all bothered about the religion thing as we were with the 'Christmas Get-Together' name), but the majority of peeps still get holidays around this time :) so a lot of people will be off work/school/college/uni . We could call it 'Chocolate Party', or something more witty since I'm no good at that sort of thing. ^^'


So yeah - just seeing if you guys are interested in running or participating in a few fun little events over this time. :) Any thoughts?

I don't think so. Too much concentration of Get-Togethers for last year. Give it in until August >__> We can't be having too many of these blasted things.

It sounds like a good idea to me, I'd definitely be interested. Obviously I wasn't around for any others, but it seems like it could be fun.

I don't think so. Get Togethers used to be less than annual and if we do so many in such a short amount of time, they will kind of lose their effect - to bring the community together every year or so. I'd rather see an all out Get Together every year, than a few hurridly put together ones five times yearly. Maybe we can just do one of the Great Egg Swaps again in the DPPt/HGSS/BW sections to go with the whole Easter egg theme.

I like the idea but I don't think many others would be in favour. As mentioned though, there could always be forum-specific things for Easter. And for once I don't really know what B/W COULD do... XD;

edit: Kay, B/W has an event idea by me lined up sorta. :D

A mini-get together wouldn't be so bad, but I'm concerned about activity. Most people like myself may be busy attending gatherings with family members.

Not sure if it would fly with the words 'Get-Together'. It was hard enough for me to convince the staff for a Christmas+New Year event.

Best thing to do would be to run it by staff and see if you can get any interesting individuals, as it needs a handful of dedicated staff to oversee it and run it.​

Well since Kaori agreed, for Easter, Black and White will have a design an egg competition, allowing users to draw, create+take photos of, or digitally create an egg design for any B/W Pokemon. And then there will be a competition that allows people to design Pokemon on actual eggs if they want, by sticking legs, arms of Pokemon on etc. :D But the first one is the primary one.

Board events by moderators, like Kaori and Forever would be the best thing you could get as regards to Easter events.

I can think of some things for VG and speak to Morkula if it takes off.​

I wouldn't go with a Get-Together, or even a mini one. Every section should have the choice to make one for their specific area if they want to, but I don't think a Get-together is really necessary to celebrate such a small event.

But this is making me think that I should ask Hiidoran about an event to promote new people to stay here longer, and have fun. :3

I'm all for specific board events, especially since most of the moderators do that anyway in one form or another, but an entire get-together? Again? The New Years one was just a test one, that won't be happening again (despite the success of it), unless Jake suddenly decides to toss out the Halloween get-together, which I doubt would happen. I like just keeping one - mayyyybe two a year. It's much more special and a lot more interesting that way, rather than having three to five. Ya know?

I'm starting to come up with an idea for Pokemon Trivia (because that place needs activity), but otherwise, I pretty much agree with Patchisou. Not to mention that Easter is supposed to be a religious holiday (but like with Christmas it's become commercialized. oh le sigh).

A Get-Together is when the community basically gets together to do some organized competitions, contests, etc. Set up by staff and other members.
