    I've done a search & can't find the answer....
My son has been trying to evolve the eevee into the night/day forms, but can't seem to figure it out. He hatched an eevee at level 1, then says he got his max affection up with the minigame thingy. He also says he put a bell on the pokemon to help it evolve. Since then he's been leveling it up & has already hit level 17 without any change in eevee. He's tried it both at night & during the day. Any tips?

    Thank you!

Affection in Pokemon-Aime and happiness are two different things. Happiness is how you evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon, the Night and Day formes.

You can raise happiness by battling other Pokemon, getting a massage at Cyllage City, leveling up, and just walking around. He's just gotta keep at it!

Thank you!!! He appreciates it (as do I, since he won't be quite as frustrated :) )

Although affection and happiness have the same meaning (well, kind of), they're still treated a little differently in the games. Don't ever get them mixed up. d: Also, since Gigginold has answered your question already, I'm going ahead and closing this thread.
