3rd Gen Effort ribbon without rare candys

    Hey ppl
    I got an Effort ribbon without using RC!
    This ribbon has some utility?

    The Effort Ribbon is an indicator you've maxed out your EVs. It has nothing to do with rare candy at all. Go read the EV guide in the FAQ to explain a bit better

    why would you use rare candies to train your pokemon anyway

    the fun part is raising them.

    I didn't think you could get the effort ribbon if u rare candied your way up

    oh well...I still prefer to raise mine with the macho brace
     
    Yes, you can still gain EVs even if you've Rare Candied all the way up to L100. RC is the lazy way, but it does save a lot of time (of course, it takes almost as much time to get enough RC as it does to raise normally).
     
    Err... even if you use rare candy, you still need to train with the macho brace later. It's just that instead of having messed EVs, rare candy gives you the perfect EVs (most of the time) at a speed of being slightly faster. It's not "lazy" because you need just as much time in the long run. Pick+Choose wild Pokemon to fight can be a hideous job, especially for Pokemon in need of def or sp.def.
     
    Ugh, I hear that...it took me two hours yesterday to find and kill 20 silcoon/cascoon in petalburg woods with my skarmory. Only...40 or so to go *groan*

    Training for HP was easy though, stupid whismurs, heheh.
