Really, it's not the layout that's irritating. I kinda like the layout itself. It's just the colors O.o

That greeny colour is a bit hard on the eyes as a background, especially paired with black text.

Perhaps if you used a more relaxing color like blue it might be a improvment becuase the green is like jedi amara said kind of hard on the eyes.
