[Script✓] Emerald: Changing names of Pokemon used by trainers

I'm very, very new to the scripting aspect of hacking, so this has been a bit of a head scratcher.

I was wondering if there's a way to change the name of Pokemon used by trainers. So the Pokemon they send out, has a unique nickname. More specifically: I'm modifying the Pokemon Emerald rival, so instead of Brendan/May it's a different person with a uniquely-named Pokemon. Would anyone know how to go about doing this?

Modifying a battle script won't help you change the names of the PKMN, since it is ID based and not "name" based.
