My emerald was playing just fine (it was on a rom) then after i beat the elite 4, it said the save file had been erased. Then i started a new game and it worked perfectly. What happened?

Well it happened to me also but i do know why it had happened coz caught elite fours pokemon with GS
but i think that u needed to expand ur memory size to 128k to save the file correctly

Fault with the ROM.
I never play on ROM's can't trust em. Try and get it on an r4 card and it should be alright.
