It seems appropriate that a GBA remake of Crystal would be a hack of Emerald. The PokeNav takes the place of the PokeGear. The Pokemon sprites are animated from the start. There is a clock feature which, with proper manipulation, can be used all over Johto to change the palette and even events. If someone is good enough with hacks, they can even add a calendar.
The Calendar. Simple, yet brilliant. The script would read something like:
If time = 00:00, day = day + 1
If day = 8, day = 1
This would control not only the Bug Catching Contest but the SS Aqua schedule as well.
Oh, god, I'm rambling again...
So, to make a long story short, I currently have an Emerald Rom and experience with text and map hacks, but I'm more think and less do. If anyone wants to help me out with making MindCrystal a reality, please tell me what your skillset is and let's get going!
STORY
An errand for Prof. Elm turns into a whole adventure! Three years after a Trainer (you in FR/LG) defeated Giovanni, Team Rocket reorganizes in Johto, causing chaos. Only you can stop it! Journey through the Johto Region and aim for the top while battling those bad guys and kicking them out.
~PART ONE~
It's the middle of the night. A car rolls up in front of a small house. A man gets out of the driver's seat. He is Professor Elm, Pokemon Researcher. He has travelled a great distance to attend Rowan's lecture on Pokemon Evolution, and he is wiped. But a Professor's job is never done. Rather than getting some sleep, Elm immediately returns to work in his lab...
It's a beautiful day in New Bark Town, and what better way to celebrate it than to have your PokeNav back from the repair shop! Now the PokeNav has a new feature: Date and time. And there's more - the prestigious Professor Elm wants to talk to you! Such an honor, to be called by such a famous researcher. Naturally, you accept and head next door. Someone is watching...
