Leveled up some more.
Corphish evolved.
Beat sixth gym.

Did the various bits of storyline (Mt. Pyre, the bases, etc).
Aegir evolved.
Traveled to Mossdeep.
Beat seventh gym.
Caught a Wailmer to be my new HM slave.

im already going to vs magma/aqua at mt chimney so can i start from there (i dont wanna start a new game just to post a few wins and stuff) btw my Swellow is lvl 23

UPDATE!(even if it's a bit small)
picked torchic as starter after losing four pounds waiting for the speech to end, thrashed May with lv7 torchic (if she has been working with birch most of her life, wouldn't she have more than one pokemon, and have a starter that has been trained?)

then my so-called mother bribed me with shoes to get out of town, which I promptly did and caught myself two wurmples, and then mailed torchic away to a mcnugget factory.
both wurmples evolved into silcoon and cascoon respectively and promptly slaughtered the teams of the first few trainers to irk them, (that poor,poor,poor poochyena, choking on string shot like that, and his trainer who seems to be twiching on the floor from a poison sting
currently sulking after having to protect wally from rabid lotads

Anybody still doing this? I was planning to start up doing a bug run. Probably still will anyway but it's always nice to have a community cheering you on or making fun of you or whatever this community does. :)

Well so far, I snagged two Wurmples right off the bat and trained them up until they both turned into Silcoons. Bummer. So I trained the one with the better nature into Beautifly and snagged a Cascoon in Petalburg woods. I hate doing that since it only had Harden and requires the whole switch-in, switch out thing to train it up but oh well. So I got it evolved to a Dustox and when next I play I'll be scouring Route 102 looking for a Surskit. Also I have a Zigzagoon for HM Slave and item procurment purposes.

Not a bad start.

So apparently I'm an idiot and there are no Surskit in Emerald. Boo. On the plus side, all that grind has brought both my Dustox, Motte, and my Beautifly, Monarch, to level 20. Onward to Rustboro City.
